Unicode Characters Don't Appear in 1.4.1

This is a crazy error. For some reason, whenever I try to type unicode characters, such as the ever-popular ♥, ♪ and ♫, they show up as "?" on my screen. Other people are able to see them, at least I assume so based on the number of people who ask me "How do you do that?"

The big font, what shows up when you frag people or start a game, is also mis-sized. It's always the same size, no matter the length of the message. So "Deathmatch Started!" would be the same font size as "You Killed ,.~'|G.0.T.H.D.A.T|'~.,", despite the difference in the number of characters. I suspect these two problems are related.

I've determined this is not a problem with my font.ini file, it occurs with the default file and my tweaked file.

Also, I was able to see unicode characters in 1.4.

If you run in compatability mode, you can't see unicode characters; are you running in compatability mode?

I have my capability mode off and I still can't see my unicode letters. Is there something wrong? How could I fix it?

Are you running Windows 98? You might need to install unicode font pack.

Im running Windows XP, i'll try and install a font pack.

EDIT: I tried googling a font pack, but no luck, can someone redirect me to a unicode pack?

Do you want to type in a specific language? If yes Windows has options in the control panel to install that.
If you want to type those special characters, then I don't know, are you sure you're typing them in correctly?
