hey im new to mapping and i just got the sooldat polygon map maker and i was wonder what are the dimensions in pixels that would be good for a general ctf map?

Dimensions?  In Pixels?  Who in the world would measure their maps in pixels?!

It does not matter, for the most part.  Unless you are trying to submit a map for some 32-slot server, don't make maps that are, in your perspective, humongous.

Ontopic:  If you want a reference for a good general size, look at maps like viet and nuubia.
