Knife? A nooby weapon? My ass it is.

If you ever see them again be sure to tell them the knife is one of the hardest weapons to use, you don't just point and throw, you have to aim at a good spot so you don't miss.

Yeah, the knife is definately not a noob weapon. I've tried throwing it and it is hard to pull off. I respect knife throwers because of that.

It's not even a guaranteed one hit kill if you don't charge it up enough, and even then enemies sometimes survives the hit. :( I'd say it's the second most difficult secondary to kill with after the chainsaw though.

People will whine about anything. The only death that probably is exempt from "noob" comments is fists, and even that would likely incur "wtf" after comment whining.

Just like almost anything else, the more you practice, the better you get. I've been using the knife for ages, and hitting targets at medium range has become almost second nature to me. The problem is that with anything other than short range, there is a certain degree of luck involved, as there is enough time for any target to anticipate a throw, and evade it. The knife may seem hard at first, but keep using it and you'll find it gets much easier.  8)

Ah, I even remember playing with you a few days ago. You are good with the knife. 8)

heh... I don't remember seeing you, but thanks for the compliment :D I actually had to get in some extra practice with the knife, when I got my laptop. The game is stretched to widescreen, and I was missing everything with the knife at first. But like I said.. practice is the key. hehe.

Knife isn't for noobs lol. It's a weapon that is hard to use, and it's short ranged and not always gives you one hit ko's. the charge up delay is usful for lobbing over rocks and snags and is very predictibul, once you see the charge up, you simply move in the other direction (or jump if they are on ground), most noob knifers will miss anyway, and the good ones won't move their aimer fast enough, and the kick ass knifers will get you, unless you get them first. if they miss, their reload time depends on how fast they recover the knife, and if you standing on it, they have to fight their way though, so you should be able to kill them off then.

any noobs that reads this, please consider your knife as a good secondary instead of putting it down and calling it "crap" like time you die from anything.

Cato.. about 'reloading time' with the knife... don't make the unwarranted assumption that knife users won't switch back to primary and blow your head off, rather than retrieving their knife first. 8)

I usually swap to the knife direct after respawn, try to kill someone (and usually someone dies ^^), then try to pick it up again. If I lose it i use my primary weapon. The knife is my second primary ^^

What I like most are long-distance hits with a decent "wtf?!? n1" after the kill. That's why I love my knife.

And a "noob weapon"? Haha! If someone says this to me he shall try to kill me with his "noob knife".

No matter which weapon you use you'll be called a noob in this game, unfortunately..Knife is great tho.

Well, theres a difference between being able to use a knife, and being able to control a knife.
A knife user will simply just pull it out and throw (even at a very close proximity) at a person when they either 1. run out of ammo, or 2. have a show they know they can get.
Knife controllers however, have taken the time to learn how a knife can properly be used. (knife "controllers" tend to not use any other 1 hit weapons) An example of this is when someone takes your flag on ctf_B2B and the EFC has gone down, they will most likely whip out the knife and throw it down the bridge to kill ht person, alot of knife "users" wouldnt think of this (it doesnt matter if they miss, the fact that they tried :P)

They also use a variety of spreadsheets to keep track of how long they tend to charge the throw, the angles used, amount of kills and missed throws, and a number of other stats and numbers regarding their knife usage.  :)

Every time someone calls me a noob for using the knife I challenge them to a 1vs1 knife duel.  Strangely, no one has accepted yet.   :P

I get the occasional kill from the b2b bridges... resulting in a variety of the usual short, but humourous, responses... "wtf", "lame", "hax", and of course, "lucky".. well duh :P
