the less practice you have with a weapon, the harder it is to use. newbs are drawn to guns that look at them in the eye, (m79 for instance) and they take their time moving to different guns.

hell, i need practice with the m79, but i can use everything else well (not including minigun)

The term 'newb' is used to refer to someone who is new.  The term n00b refers to people who play like they're new, especially people who think they're good.

Examples:
Newbs use the m79 because it is simple to master.
N00bs use the m79 because they get easy kills with it.

Newbs are upset because they keep getting killed.
N00bs think they're so good, anyone who kills them must be hacking.

Newbs miss shots because they are not yet skilled in aiming. [EDIT]
N00bs constantly blame misses on lag or bad luck. [EDIT]

Newbs don't know where to take the flag in Infiltration.
N00bs take the flag to the top of the map or some other obscure area instead of capturing it.

Newbs get better scores by practicing.
N00bs get better scores by hacking.

The term n00b is overused because the tactics it refers to are overused.  When a good deal of players used the m79 for months because they're not good enough with any other weapon, they deserve the title of n00b.  OTOH, when someone uses the m79 for months because they are genuinely skilled with it, that's fine.

The word n00b is meant to be derogatory; a n00b thinks he's the best, so he can't cope with people who are better than he is.  Often a n00b will intentionally be bothersome or annoying, just for kicks.

Don't confuse 'newb' with 'n00b'.  They refer to two different things.

Actually, lag can sometimes cause shots to miss because the person who has a really high ping will appear to be warping, thus causing missed shots even for a pro...

I know you can miss due to lag; I meant they CONSTANTLY complain that the enemy is lagging, so they're missing.

I think he was referring to the "Newbs miss shots" part of the quote. Everyone misses shots due to lag (not exclusively of course) was what he was trying to point out.

Ya know I wish I could master the knife. Can't teach an old dog to sit, so I'm probably gonna keep using law for a long time.
