Nine Inch Nails are epic.

I keep on confusing them with Finger Eleven. I don't know why.

Wraithlike, I tried listening to some of theirs, ImaRobot. They're really wierd. At first I was like, "No way, man! They've got no feeling at all", but I always try to give new tracks a chance, and suddently I really like it. Kinda strange, 'cause I've never really listened to anything of the like. However, it reminds me of this awesome band called Reel Big Fish(yeah, Reel, not Real). It's a variation of ska/punk, and I'm telling you they're wicked! They have this whole happy-theme about them, and you can't but smile a little when you listen to it.

I'ma throw in a link here. Like any other new genre you might need to give it a little time. Check it out, I think you might like it:
Website, few tracks included:
http://www.reel-big-fish.com/2006/index.php

Myspace, few other tracks:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=11034452

So yeah, give it a try, mate.

I love Incubus. I have every full length CD they have ever put out. It's wonderful stuff. Except the new CD.
Mate, I'm really digging your taste in music. Too bad I can't make you swing by the TripHop/Instrumental genre, I really think you're missing out on something there.
Should you reconsider, here's a new artist I just dug up. Never heard about him until they added me on myspace the other day. Calls himself Cameron Thomas, and he's got a pretty good grip on the whole shaping a good flow.

Anyway, his myspace is here with a few really awesome tracks. If you listen to'em all you'll notice how his songs varie. Only the first track is actually rap/TripHop by definition. The others are more TripHop/Instrumental. Or as he calls it himself, experimental.
Check it out:
http://www.myspace.com/cameronthomasproductions

Now, I have one last band I'd like to share with you guys for now. It's on a complete other genre, and you guys might be pretty supriced that I actually like it. Anyone heard of K's Choice?
I've listened to these guys for as long as I can remember, and I absolutely love their music. They combine the rocky tunes with a twist of something beautiful. I couldn't say what exact genre it belongs to, so that remains to be set by you guys.
Website:
www.kschoice.com

Myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/kschoice18

Seriously guys. You really oughta check this band out. They're truely amazing. They'r eone of those bands where you just know it was never about the money. They love playing, and it shows. So give it a chance.

I went to a 3-day long Irish music session over the extended-weekend, and played with a lot of good uilleann bagpipe players.  Here's a song that I learned on Sunday that I think some of you might enjoy (youtube video.)
John McSherry - Doinna

note: it's definitely not me playing, and I didn't make the video.  I just thought it was neat and should be posted to this thread.  One of the most beautifullest songs everrr.

They are a post hardcore experimental band. They have some really chill songs and they play great live shows.

The Fall Of Troy

A 3-man hardcore experimental band. They have some of the greatest guitar parts I've ever heard. When you listen, remember that it's only one guitarist.

Well I have looked at every single post and come to realize I am really picky with my music... anyway Chariot the only bands I could get into that you posted here As I Lay Dieing and He is Legend. You might like Extol(Don't watch the video.. just some tools, I posted for the good sound quality) if you checked them out, I only have good times with this band... driving around rich neighborhoods blaring this while my buddy sat in the driver seat and strummed on his guitar while I steered the car... Yeah good times... Course we did the same thing with Danielson(Danielson is known by 3 names I think, Danielson, the Danielson Familie, and something else I think.. can't remember.) Both bands are christian.

Now lets review a little more of my music folder.

Alien Ant Farm
Eh... give me some slack I can like mainstream stuff if I like... I swear you guys are annoying....

Anyway I love the sound these guys have, the songwriting is also really good. If you judge these guys by "Movies" and the cover of "Smooth Criminal" you are missing out the good stuff.

Andrew WK
I think I hear some confusion in the air... a christian liking this band? YES! Andrew rocks, has an awsome voice and sings about having fun and being happy in life. Something everyone can enjoy.

Atom and His Package
Really gotta pick and choose with this guy, his songs are either funny and fun to listen to or simply crap.

Beck
Its Beck... you must love Beck....

Damien Jurado
I just started getting into this guy, I have listened to him on an off for a while but I am really digging him now. Very chill.

Damien Rice
Chakra got me into this guy. Again very chill.

Millencolin
Another punk band. Vocals are unlike any other punk band I have heard.

Newsboys

An Aussie(I believe) Christian band thats been around for ages. Here is a song that dang near every christian my age knows... http://youtube.com/watch?v=qi7IGXBUPuc Now one of the newer songs... http://youtube.com/watch?v=4OEmNhz7Ys4 Don't watch the video... just listen

Ninja Gun
My brother plays guitar in this band, even though I think my brother is an idiot most of the time I still love the music. This song is pretty chill, they do alot of rock. Also Coody(Vocals) is a pretty nice dude and a myspace *****... http://www.myspace.com/ninjagun

Norah Jones
I love female vocals, however not many females that can sing, sing good music or in a style that I like. Norah is one of the few I love. Very Chill.

Stereolab
Not the best song but eh... Love the vocals here. Chill.

Steve Burns
Yeah! The guy from Blues Clues! No he didn't kill himself/whatever idiot story you heard. The Flaming Lips helped him out with his first album and its freaking awsome. Chill.

Toby Mac
Another christian artist, used to be in the band DC Talk which made another song that nearly every christian my age knows... Jesus Freak I wanted to post a good video of the song "Boomin'" but couldn't find it... I swear Boomin' is one of the best songs this guy has ever done....

William Shatner
Think that song is a cover... but I love it. Not much else to say... its Kirk....

Almost forgot to add Regina Spektor
Heard this girl on vh1 when I worked at a school and I had to wake up early, loved it, and profited.... Plus she has a great voice.

Good lord its been like an hour to do this post... anyway thats my entire music folder... but I just remembered some old bands and may be posting more... (crap)

Mancer you reminded me of another band.... I freaking hate you....

Rancid
Another punk band

Btw NOFX is ok. They got a handful of good songs yeah but they don't deserve the praise everyone gives them.

NARGH! looked over a folder in my stash...

The Presidents of the United States of America
Great band with a neat style and insanely awsome songwriting. They got back together a while ago and record an album under the name The Presidents... didn't find anything on youtube. The lead singer did some other stuff which I might be able to upload tomorrow.

Yeah, I finished downloading the rest of their stuff on Sunday. It's all great music.

@†, I saw Newsboys once last summer. I went to a Lutheran National Gathering in San Antonio where Tens of thousands of Lutherans from all over America came. Anyways, they were pretty good. They did a bit more preaching than playing but I liked what I heard.

You may like Lost & Found.
Good song

They make a great duo. They are some of the funniest people I've ever met, too.

Yeah you got to expect preaching with most of the popular christian bands now though. Still I can't hold it against them, not like I want them to stop preaching...

Ratatat.
two man band.
one on guitar one on the synth (though in most videos you can see two on guitar and one on the synth).
They've got an upcoming show with Daft Punk on July 21st in LA that I really want to go to.

First of all, i'm sorry to bring this to rebirth. however, I feel the very essence of this topic makes it timeless, and therefor I see now real harm stirring it up once more.

That being said, I stumpled upon some music on myspace tonight. It's a band called Player Please, and their music is really somewhat spectacular. Their music is a funny mixture of artificial TripHop like beats and jazzy grooves. Please take your time to listen to this musica extraordinaire, and don't let my former suggestions affect your thoughts on this.

Please, take a moment to listen:
http://www.myspace.com/playerpleasemusic

I suggest the second and the third song most of all.

Thanks,
echo_trail
