Photoshop help....PLEASE!
« on: June 24, 2007, 10:58:29 pm »
Ok, so after killing my laptops...I hadn't used photoshop in ages, so naturally...I forgot my rather limited photoshop skills.
So I ask thee, how do I fade images into each other, and into backgrounds EASILY?

Cheers;

Better to use gimp. Google GIMP and you'll find a crapload of Tutorials.

I disagree, I think Photoshop is a lot better for doing... everything that the GIMP can do and more.

I would recommend The Gimp, it being free and all, except for one thing.

The interface...absolutely terrible. Every single thing you do it opens up another damn window. I can't stand it, although I was forced to use it in my one of my classes. What a fun time that was.

Sorry for going off topic.

IMHO:
Paint Shop Pro > Photoshop > MS Paint > Gimp

Use layers, Photoshop can do that. Put whatever you wanted faded from on one layer, and put your fade-to image on a lower layer... And that's where I can't help you any more. Sorry.

First overlay your foreground image on a seperate layer from your background image.

Select the layer with the foreground image.

Then in the layer tool window, drag the slider for Opacity down from 100% to whatever value you want. 0% makes it invisible, and 50% makes it half transparrent.

I was going to suggest this, but I think he wants a faded transparency, ie solid at the top and gradually getting more transparent, or something to that effect..

Shouldn't Paint.NET be on there somewhere?

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

yes it shuld. As I've said milion of times, it is extremely customisable and can fit in anyone's needs wether it be a simple pixelart to real photos. The GUI is one of it's best aspects too :P

Well, you have to give me a subject... photoshop ranges from photos fixing & adjustments to forum signatures & web layouts... unless you want me to spew random tutorials...
