Please help test this out for MM
« on: June 25, 2007, 04:32:14 pm »
I'm working to have people test something out regarding a bug that might have showed up in Soldat since 1.4.

Please do this:

Try joining the same Soldat server at the same time from two separate computers in your house (such that they both get the same IP when they go to http://whatismyip.org).  Tell me if it works or not.  Please post (regardless of whether it works or not) your operating system, router brand and model, and your cable/dsl modem brand and model (if you can)

If you can test this, please take the 10 minutes to do so.

Works fine for me, just installed Soldat on my sister's computer and then connected them both to a server at the same time, no problems.

Linksys WRT54GS
Motorolla CyberSURFR Wave modem (is strictly a modem; lacks any NAT ability)

What does the router and modem brand matter anyway? I will try this soon. You should ask the fintwins (DS & Rami) to try this, imo they have played lots of clanwars, though Im not sure if they have different ips.

Not all hardware works the same; there are certain brands that have problems with games specifically.

I didn't spot anything too out of the ordinary.
Though now I know more about lag:  it seems bullets are delayed due to lag but when you I killed the other me it was pretty much instantly.
What are you looking for in particular flab?

XP - motorola router
Can't think of anything original to put here...

Some people are unable to play when they have multiple computers running Soldat; this is to more or less rule it out as being Soldat's fault.
