Hitting someone long before they have a chance at hitting you is a significant advantage. No you won't be crouched in the woods saying "one shot one kill" but you gain an advantage. They have the advantage of a shorter barrel and can turn around a corner quicker, which i don't mind. My gun is about a meter long, and it is awesome.

the way we prefer to play is if you get shot you need to run to the back of your team before you start shooting again

I know you can use compressed air or nitrogen, but I'm not sure whether you need a new tank for compressed air, you do for nitrogen. I think as long as it is rated for 3000 psi you are good to go.

Only reason for compressed air or nitrogen is if you are in cold weather or an electronic board.
