What is a perfect game??
« on: June 26, 2007, 01:32:39 pm »
Actually what makes a perfect game??

In my opinion it doesn't need to be very graphicaly advanced. Just needs to be nice, thats why I love 2d games.

I think that a best game would be in 2D, giving hours of fun, the ability to have a quick game session, without having you to worry about if you'd loose that feel if you interupt it and play again after a few days. The gameplay shouldn't be too boring or demanding either, just plain fluid fun but to more extreme gamers also give some challenge of beating it in different ways...

What do you think would be the best, or a perfect game if you like...?

A Mix between Ultima Online and Oblivion, maybe some Call of Duty for good measure. I would give that game a shot... if for no reason to find out how the heck they wrote CoD into that...

Some people play games to relax and get a small excape from reality, besides no game is at all real. Want a real reality game? Made a fps where your weapons are money and time, using one effect how much the other you have. You have to go around and find a job and do that job for years until you die. You cannot with the game and if you log out of the game you will never be able to log back in. Reality.

Grand Theft Auto + all the sports games + The Sims + some racing games + several FPSs = best game ever.

i would say GTA San Andreas was perfect if it had:

1. real life system (eating, sleeping etc but more real than now)
2. more optimized graphics
3. realistic physics ( no more flying 500 metres with a truck)
4. more realistic storyline/missions
5. limited carry capacity
6. a chance that you get beaten up by some guy, rather than yu killing hundreds of people with bare hands
7. more flexible AI with some situations (like they would throw rocks at you and run away if you're chasing them with a chainsaw)
8. more realistic damage system

basically, I would just like everything to be more real. Hope that will be the case in GTAIV.
There will be a balkanian guy, but from the trailers I've seen they're stereotyping balkan as some illiterate, crazy slave trading fools...

To get the perfect game:

1) Buy an Xbox 360

2) Wait until October 16th

3) Buy GTA:IV

4) Enjoy

Um... no, I like GTA the way it is, because it's all fantasy. If GTA were more realistic than I don't think I'd play it. Although they are adding some things to GTA 4 that are better, like being able to break windows to steal locked cars, you're now able to store stuff in the trunk of your car, climbing firepoles and entering fire escapes, no loading times after the inital loading screen, ****ing amazing graphics, (Especially because it's GTA, this is the most noticeable thing.) and all the other little upgrades that have gotten here over the years, such as the addition of bikes and more boats, bribing cops or the hospital to keep your weapons after you die, properties/extra safe houses, etc. :)

Here, the WikiGTA: http://en.wikigta.org/wiki/Main_Page

Also, Mangled: :D :D (Or the PS3 version, if you can afford a PS3. I'll be buying it by the end of July.)

First person adventure, take a first person camera and have platforming elements along with fighting and upgrading equipment, and some bf2 like driving, because that is just fun. Go from Doing simple tasks to a much larger quest.

Perhaps online, but definitely a decent story.

GTA has been done, I am bored of rampaging.

I think the perfect game's most important feature would be gameplay. The perfect gameplay would have these characteristics:

1) It rewards skill
2) It doesn't get repetitive or boring
3) It allows you to play the way you want
4) It would be balanced

The games I think are the best so far are StarCraft and Deus Ex. SC has 1, 3, and 4, while DE has 1, 2, and 3.

Graphics, story, etc. are all important elements, but those could be utterly perfect and you could still have a crappy game. If you have perfect gameplay, everything else would be overlooked by how fun it is.

4 year old, I gotta tell you, platforming from a first person perspective is absolute hell. There have been games that have tried to do that and have failed miserably at it.

Are you serious?

I would go on a rant about how well written and deep some game storys are, but it's 3:30 am.

Haha, you could just name the game and if I know it, I'll shoot it down.

They all suck.

It will have to wait till tomorrow. I'm going to bed soon.

StarCraft. Morrowind. Darwinia.

While I believe that nothing is perfect, I consider those games to have outstanding stories. For StarCraft, don't attempt shooting it down unless you read the 94-page manual/backstory book.
