I am, however, interested in the discoveries people have made while meditating as well as their correlations to drug use and cognition deficits.
I've tried astral projection. I lay on my back and start focusing on something. I notice the curtains are sort of waving. Then the image starts to ripple. Items start to melt into the wall. Tunnel appears, everything turns black, then quickly changes into silver. Pure white light. Woah! At this point I have to move my eyes. It all goes away in a second.I can spend hours doing this. Has anyone gone beyond this point?

Funny, the feelings you described are the same when going to a lucid dream. Every time I WILD, my body feels like a block of iron and there's a magnet lifting me up. I lose all sense of gravity. Then colors start to appear, and I'm in a dream.
QuoteI am, however, interested in the discoveries people have made while meditating as well as their correlations to drug use and cognition deficits.Examples if you will. I was just curious to what extent. Do you mean discoveries as in a "eureka" effect or something to the extent of a drug induced trip. I believe you meant the latter, but I could be wrong.
Discoveries as in insights about how the mind works: the psychological aspect of meditation/drug use/etc.
