Bullet time under button
« on: June 30, 2007, 04:17:56 am »
Hi what you think about bullet time allowed to turn on/off with one button ?!?!?!

Off course with bots, just for fun! And it should have been limited, like Focus in Matrix games!! Please support it, maybe some1 can make MOD? Damn it could be awesome.

Go to newgrounds, search for Madness Interactive, click "Play this game", there ya go, all-out insane killing with limited bullettime.

I don't think this would be implemented into Soldat.

@Kryp -- go buy some skills. use /command to bring up the commands.

It's been suggested. I gave it support but now when I've thought about it, it's pointless...

If you wanna see matrix pwnage in Soldat. Follow these steps:

1) Play a game
2) Record the game
3) Own everyone
4) Play the demo
5) While demo is playing hold down f10 (pause)
6) Watch in awe!

Demo seems to be playing in slow-mo when it is just actually pausing and unpausing rapidly. Great fun, also a good way to find the perfect screenshot. Hope this helps....

Also, remember why Bullet time ONLY happens when everyone is near each other -- because everyone's time has to be synchronized. If Bert here was using Bullet time and Ernie there wasn't, Ernie is gonna have a TON of more time to do killing than Bert, who is running on a slow time. Since Bert is running on slowed time, when Ernie kills something at 2:15:00, Ernie is only gonna see it happen at like 2:15:15 -- which is equal to "15" seconds of LAG. Do you know how many noobers online complain of a 80 millisecond "lag!?"

Anyway the point is that players using and not using Bullet time will become unsynch'd in the universal gametime. It's gonna cause the game to crash in the end =\

.·: êšþãÐøñ :·., He suggested it for bots only (offline), not for online gameplay ofcourse. ;)

During offline gameplay this suggestion would be possible. And to be honest, I think it'll be a boom for those playing offline. However, I don't know how much coding work it'll take but I think it's a lot of work for a relatively small feature.

Why the hell did I have to use my too-fancy clan forum name...stupid me.

Hmm, DePhille, you're right, I missed that one, but I cannot think of any hard-wired game mechanic in Soldat that is not global; i.e. cannot be use online... might be tougher to code if you want that "Bot only" restriction.

Imagine you could do this in multiplayer too, how annoying would that be if you slowed time down for everyone. :)
