You can get both done... you just won't get them done for free, thats all insurance is, free money. I have no health insurnace now and I know that if I need surgery I have to pay for it. Health isnurance doesn't put you ahead of people that don't have health insurance.. it just means after the surgery is done instead of you paying for the bill your insurance company does. I have to agree about the Canadian health care thing. I hope to god I never have to get any major surgery because it's going to take a damn long time to get into a hospital.

But the government is doing their "Conversation on Health" or whatever they're calling it in an effort to fix the health care system because it is broken as hell.
