And 1v1 proves nothing. It shows how well you aim. To be a real pro at soldat you need to be able to work with a team to defeat the other team, not solo it out. (This applies to any gamemode with teams except climb)

elite, do try the LONEWOLF TRAINING one of these days and post your screens. Just for fun.

You're someone who had 30:1 before, I'd like to see your ratio in LONEWOLF TRAINING. :)

1v1 is to prove who is better individually, often used for entering clans and also for clan rankings it may also occur as a solution for a fight between 2 players.

well we all have our prime times :). also it isn't really sure that he hacked. I had 4 aimbot bans even though I didn't use aimbot.

Why does it prove he can't play in servers that are packed?

I mean, if a player can kill ass in a deathmatch and understand the concept of how the game is well played, what would make a capture the flag match different if he already knows how to kill?

I pwn u all in 1vs1, HAHA
I don't believe you. :P

And 1v1 proves nothing. It shows how well you aim. To be a real pro at soldat you need to be able to work with a team to defeat the other team, not solo it out. (This applies to any gamemode with teams except climb)

1v1 proves alot. Especially in CTF you NEED 1v1 skills, ALOT. Think that you are having an enemy flag, and 2 enemies come into you. You need to kill them BOTH, there is no teammate helping you, they can do nothing but trust you, that you survive.

One 1v1 lose in CTF can result in losing the whole match. Also, when playing alt-way of map, it is direct 1v1 situation over and over again, which you have to handle. If you can not handle the enemy, he will come to your base and he has high chance to grab the flag and escape. Also in main-way, you need to be able to kill the enemy before he kills you. This is where you need that 1v1 skill again.

Though, there is 2 different 1v1 players. Another who rush, and another who are cowards and run away and shoot that what they can while running.

I am offensive player. I rush at enemies, making sure I am as hard to hit  as possible, and trying to maintain my own accuracy as good as possible. Mastering nades and secondaries from long distances, knowing how to hide when needed is really something you need to think and practise about to be a successfull 1v1 player.

Defensice players, (or cowards, as I like to call them) run usually away, waiting for opponent to attack. I personally HATE playing against this kind of players, as usually it is harder to kill such a person by rushin, than it is for him to kill you while he stays almost the whole time in safe position. Also, when playing against those so called cowards, the game is slow. Very slow. For example I played against Hexsa a.k.a. Bones, who is one of the best rushing players imo, and the rounds of 30 kills in Flashback took us less than 6 minutes to finish. Yesterday I played against another Finnish player, Patton, or Pattoni. He played very defensive way with ruger, and I never got a proper close-mid 1v1 situation with him. We were able to make 17 kills in whole 10 minutes.

This "elite"-guy is great example of player who only shines in 1v1. I haven't player against him, but I have heard he is godlike in 1v1. I believe he is either playing coward, or being VERY accurate with Ruger. Or then cheating. (I have heard rumours, from very good, known and trusee players.)

IF he is rushing, and is unbeatable, I really respect him, but if he is just running away and waiting for opponent to show up and then kill him, I just think him as such a lamer in 1v1 as some spray-only clan is in 3v3 CTF game.

I also heard that this "elite"-guy is awful in CTF. He just can not make the kills, just ain't good there. Thus i'd say that he is nothing special, running lamer in 1v1 and nothing more. I might be wrong as well, and I hope I am. I am not telling he is like that, but I am telling what myimpresions might be about him after what I have heard about him.

A bit offtopic though, but I just wanted something to write about. :)

I love you Clawbug.

To add a bit more to that: 1v1 helps you become a good player. You're not obligated to play duels, you can become great otherwise ( with a couple of thousand clanwars ). But it does teach you some things that will come in handy in ctf. The obvious examples are which Clawbug mentioned, but you get used to picking up a second primary, restoring your resources when it's possible ( even if it means taking a detour ); your movement also advances, as a lot of bad players just move one way, straight ahead, and are predictable.

Yeah. Duels really help alot in learning the weapons, how they work, how to use them, and how to survive. I have personal experience on this manner, as we used to do alot of duelinn with my friend, and former Soldat-player called Metalhead. First duels were total fragfest by me, resulting in 5-30 victory for me. Then after 2-3 Months he was able to beat me like 30-25, soon 30-20.

Just play alot, duels. Duel, duel, duel and duel. Especially against good players, you will soon learn the tricks and how to survive and kill fast.
