I don't know where else I could ask this, so I'll ask it in here.

Could I have my name changed to SpiltCoffee, just like it says in my avatar and signature? You can keep my username the same, I just want my nickname changed.

Actually, there is an option in SMF to allow nickname changing, but it's been turned off on this forum.

Anyways, it's not that much of a hassle. It's just clicking into my profile, typing in my new name and clicking "Save".

And why would they have to do it for everyone? I don't go by the name elbow_man anymore. In fact, I first intended it to be my username, not my nickname. Lol.

Yeah but you are stuck with elbow_man because you are an idiot, and I am stuck with my name because I am an idiot. A lot of people are stuck with their names but they are stuck with theirs, and if they do something nice for you, to be fair they should have to do said nice thing for everyone.

Just since this is a small question I've always never really been bothered to ask, and this is a relative topic; why is there no option for changing your nickname?

Because then chaos will reign the forums. I'm a member on a forum that used this feature, people changed their names and avatars like every 2 days. You simply can't recognize them.

As a summary, this is so Chakra can't ninja himself into a major and spam the forums. Okay, he can, but thats not the point.

That's pretty much the reason, yes

Imagine this, but all users, constantly. "Hmm, I want some random numbers here", "This name doesnt sound cool anymore"-after 4 hours, "How about I change my name into 1337-speek?", "I want more waffles", etc.

Why register if this feature was enabled? Everyone could aswell be guests

Edit: Because this name is getting old. Shadow was my first ingame name (not Major) and G-Unit was supposed to be my first clan.

I get tons of these requests and I have to turn them down because we can't have a forum full of people changing their names.

It would be cool if your display name was different from your username and you could change your display name whenever you want.
