Recoil value doesn't affect stationary guns
« on: June 07, 2007, 02:02:20 pm »
Minor thing: the recoil value for the stationary gun does not affect the actual weapon behaviour at all.
Might be the case that recoil was never intended for the SG (as for a few other weapons); but it's set to 10 in the realistic weapons INI nevertheless.

... or I'm just doing something wrong, if so then please enlighten me. :|

i think the recoil doesn't affect this because it isn't a hand held weapon.
It actually just changes your weapon temporarily and stops you from using your gun. And I meant that code wise.
I think thats the reason, but I am probably wrong...

Thats the same thing as the barret. In R/S, when you shoot the ruger, it sticks the gun up. With the barret it doesn't do that.
Remember, its all fun and games 'till someone gets hurt.. then its hilarious.

Yeh because soldat is all about the realism right?
Plus, I'm fairly sure the barret would have a pretty damn big recoil if you were just holding it in your hand and not having it on a bipod or whatever they actually use.

The recoil would't go up though... unless maybe if you were standing. If you are laying down then the gun kicks into your shoulder, the aim doesn't get off.

Yeh I meant more like if you were holding it and firing while in the air, I guess I forgot to type that part in.

The stationary gun wouldn't kick up, but if the recoil value doesn't work, it should probably be fixed.

No, changing this value does affect barrett. Althrought the values must me fairly high. If you set ruger recoil to 70, after a horizontal shot you'll be looking into the sky. For barret, this value has to be about 900. The same goes with M79, althrough about 650 is needed.
