IMO the ammo shall not be decreased at leat, if something, it should be increased. Though, increasing ammo would make it just like Deagles.

The main priority is redesigning it to be more forgiving for newbies and have a lower maximum potential for pros.

Actually that's the only priority

I agree with 8th.

Ammo is fine.

Damage is arguably fine (Deagles kills in 3 shots, dont want to make it too weak)

Accuracy is unforgiving for newbies. For some reason, I find it MUCH easier to hit with the barrett than the ruger, despite all the restrictions like move acc and all on it. I dunno why. I dunno how exactly to fix this, but I agree.

ROF is the main problem IMO. If the ruger fired a little slower, it would still be useful in the hands of a pro, but it would not be overpowered.

Even with a slower rate of fire, its kind of useless, since 1 bullet to chest + nade = kill in .65

What is with this debate, It's been going on for so long! The ruger is not over powered in my eyes, Look at it in Realistic, The recoil is hellishly huge, People are complaining about it in normal mode, Just decrease the damage value so we can lock this thread.

Just as a note discussion should be held around what Skoskav(#th_Account) says. He does, after all, do the weapon changes in upcoming versions.

I think the main problem is it's just not an easy gun for new players. New people have a hard time with it because of the need to hit the majority of shots without a stream of bullets to guide them, increasing damage and fire interval like some have suggested won't help with that at all. One way to make it easier would be to decrease fire interval for more chances to hit and give it decreased damage to counter act it, problem with that is we now have simply a strait shooting Desert Eagle.

I think for the ruger to be balanced for both new and "pro" players some drastic change has to be made, I can't see any other way to simply tweak it and achieve the desired balance.

if you dont have a stream of bullets to guide, you only need less shots to kill. I think is pretty balanced. with a guide, you need 7-10 bullets to kill, without, you only need 2-3.

Ah, if you use barret, then "perfect as it is" but it owns every other weapons. Well, 70-80% with ruger and you own.
...
How about adding some bink? Like +5.

For noobs, ruger is underpowered. For pros, ruger is said to be overpowered.

I say leave it like that. People who work hard to learn to use the ruger deserve an 'overpowered' gun. The same can be said about the Deagles.

just think of it like this Ruger= the moving mode of Barret. so it's a little weaker, but deadly of course, and it's handy lol

Except that Ruger is alot easier to use. Ruger is the only weapon which can "reward" the "hard work". No other weapon is capable doing this, and that makes it problematic. Thus, the "reward" has to be removed.

Sure, DE's are much harder to use due to its arc, and when using ruger you just have to control moveacc (easy to do); and ruger is most effective weapon. When you face a good rugertard on long-mid range and you aren't carrying any 1-hit, just ~0,7 second and you die. When you face a rugertard while carrying auto, and you've got no nades, you still have almost no chance to survive.
I've said "+5 bink" just because ruger... owns anything, except 1-hits ; i bet that m79 has a chance on short range, on mid *both* will probably die, and on long, m79er dies whatever he does. With barret... you've got a chance, but you HAVE TO HIT, when you miss, you have to run away or try your luck with secondary. Those barret flaws doesn't apply to ruger, as it has 4 ammo (so 50% is enough to kill when facing brt..) and fast reload (~2 seconds, iirc).
Really, I've got no idea how to balance it. Adding some bink will make autos have more chance, but there *must* be better solution for that.

Remove bink, lower damage and fireinterval, that could be one solution.

I think adding at least +5 to +10 bink would be a step in the right direction. Currently, the bink on the ruger really doesn't affect accuracy at all. The only weapon that bink (not self bink) is used on is the Barrett, and for good reason. For these same reasons, the ruger should have some amount of bink added.
A lot of cheap tricks, but no real skill.
