This is important:

Newb: That is someone who is new to a game.  These are the people who make the game world go round, because at one point or another, everyone was new to a game that they play.  Newbs are usually not very good, because they're new, but that's ok.

Noob, n00b, nub, nob, n0b, etc: This is that person in the server who has to insist on hacking while having a godmode cheat on, camping behind a hill with an aimbot on.  People who ruin the game by acting stupid, or people that use lame-ass tactics.

That's my two cents.

That is not the clear-cut definition of noob. A noob is someone who is new to the game, but refuses to admit it and acts like a fucknugget in online servers.

In my personal dictionary it's a term used in stroking my ego. Anyone who calls me that is prepared to die for me.

But refuses to admit it, and refuses to change. That's the key difference between a noob and a newb.

I try to allow threads to go on as if they were a real conversation -- topics may change, people may joke around, but I don't really care as long as it doesn't get out of hand.  However, posts like yours often force me to moderate when I wouldn't have to otherwise.

If you're going to post, make sure you have something of substance to say.  And leave the moderation to the moderators.

I never noticed this thread before... I really hate this word.  Its overused to the point that it really has no meaning.  Theres only one other word thats overused more when it comes to online gaming and that is any form of owned, pwnd, and my personal favorite ownt.  People use these words when there really is no reason to.  Someone kills you one time and even if that person is wayyyyy better than you all you hear is "noob, nub, n00b, blah, blah, blah".  And the person that kills someone in the in any way at all then all the sudden they "owned" em.  The fact of the matter is most people arent noobs and you rarely ever truley own someone... give it a rest people and try and use these words when they are called for.  If you kill 4 people to cap a flag then feel free to yell OWNED all you want... if you see someone trying to shoot a LAW in the air chasing the EFC then call him a noob, but for christ sakes people dont let the word "noob" own you lol
