Soldat community = Overpolite ?
« on: July 11, 2007, 01:21:31 pm »
Is it just me or has the Soldat community turned into overpolite players ?

I mean, so many players now says nice shot again and again as I shoot their brains out.
At one point they keep quiet and then leaves the game.

That is not normal, my friends. One must express anger and communicate.
Do not keep it bottled in, and release it. Live free and express like passionate human beings.

I want to hear you go LONEEEEEEEEE DAMNNN YOUUU !! WTF ? NOOB ! FFS !! HACKER !! CAMPER !!
EVERYONE FCKING KILL LONEWOLF !! It's more fun for everyone where's theres one asshole in a game to hate and focus their anger on.

A quiet game without any chatting besides NS is boring. I already know my shots are nice, damn it.
Shut up already.

Too many people is chickened out to even expresses their discontent of getting killed again and again. Afraid to be labelled a noob. Afraid to be kicked. Afraid of getting their name tarnished.

Don't worry, I will never call you a noob.
For me there is no such thing as "noob". Everyone is basically, "meat".
Then there's good meat and bad meat. Bad meat is bad for me, as it doesn't let me play harder and get better.

I need good meat. >:O

I don't know about you, but this definitely doesn't seem to be like the case....  Even if it was, I don't see why that is a problem.  People are in servers to play with each other, not sit there screaming at each other and insulting everyone.

The RS community used to be like that before the timer was added.  I'm curious if they've reverted to their old ways since then...

Well, in clan wars and gathers it is rare to see any talking besides "map?" "ash" "omg" but in these types of games except for strategytalking its a good idea to keep quiet.

In pubs its different, I often join with a different alias and start insulting people just for fun. THen when they are like WELL THEN YOU DO IT I will and laugh at them as they leave... If you think people are too polite or quiet then start yelling at them, and they'll start back.

I am a pub DM player, (Don't judge me, there are good players on the servers I go to) but I do complain when I get owned several times in a row. "omg", "wth", "..." etc. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm currently trying to work on that.

I play a lot less since 1.4, maybe this is your "problem"

I have noticed a lot less use of the kick vote feature, damn shame.

This thread is clearly only an attention seeking one, meant to show you in a "omg I 'm so good" kinda way and half of it is bull**** anyway.
How about we play and you'll be the one getting pissed and cursing, bringing the game to what you think it's supposed to be like.

Sure everyone is playing to win, but there's nothing wrong in showing sportsmanship and general politeness. It shows that the player is mature and level-headed enough to just play the game instead of insulting their opponent, no matter whether they are winning or loosing.

My theory is a whole bunch of counterstrike players found R/S and .....well, yeah.

Aww, it's sad to see that people don't know R/S that well. I hope my new project will fix that.

And, coming from R/S, there isn't much other than 'damn' 'ns' 'LOL', etc. Remember, we're just like you lol. Though there are times when someone flips out.... >.>

I think that there isn't such a thing as overpolite. As long as you're not threatening the other person, or insulting your mother(s), any chat should be fine.

Someone just shut this guy up already.  All of his posts I've seen are about him being fucking amazing.  I've seen him play, he's decent, but not godlike or anything.

Yes.. yes....Outcast my xfire is lonewolf12629 let's go let's go ! :D

I imagine soldat being a boxing match, where two fighters who trained hard with their stamina, fists, and technique meet up.
When I punch someone in the face, breaking their nose and knocking out their teeth or two, the blood pouring out of the nose, mouth, and every possible hole in the human body, as his eyeballs almost gets loose out of their sockets, hearing them say "nice punch" is just plain weird.

I would like it better when he goes, "YOU DAMN FCKER !!!! ARGHHHHH !!!! " and punches me back in the face. Then I go "ARGHHH THAT HURT DAMN IT !" and punches him in the balls straight away. And we go on and on till both of us are dead tired and die of exhaustion.

Doesn't that sound more fun than boxers punching each other saying, "nice punch, man", "yeah, nice punch to you too" with a weird smile on their face. O_O

The reason we plays games is to do what we cannot absolutely do in real life. To escape and be another person.
So why be super polite as most of you really are in real life ? Curse. Yell. Express yourself. Free yourself from the social polite bubble that binds you.

Life is no fun without villains. :(
