LONEWOLF Training
« on: May 22, 2007, 09:22:09 pm »
Do you guys dive into the game with real players, or do you train first ?

I train first. And my training is quite tough.

It's pretty simple, pick a teammatch, 3 on 1. All enemies must be in 'impossible' mode.

The full kill score is 60 for you to win. For the 3 impossible enemy, it's 10.
So if you die 10 times you lose. (In my rules) MUST KILL 60 TO WIN NO LESS.

The basic idea is to get you killing a lot and SURVIVING at the same time.
This will train your accuracy and evading skills. Try it out, just for fun !
I promise that if you complete the training, then you are already a fully trained soldat expert.

The picture here is me striking the last barret shot, to make it to the 60 kills range with 6 deaths in the LAST SECOND. I was injured too, so it was a do-or-die situation.
Getting 60kills with less than 10 deaths is common for me, but very rarely I catch a picture of me getting a last shot, for the last kill, in the last second. Oh yeah, it was headshot too. :)

That's a pretty good idea, might try that. ^^

I train aswell, just on a ctf map FULL of bots outnumbering my team all on impossible setting. Quite fun and a good warm up before going into the real stuff.

Well in impossible mode BOTS pretty much have 90% shooting accuracy. It's just good stuff to train evasion skills.
No... BOTS are not hard, it's pretty self-explanatory from my picture.

Training in RS is definitely challenging, will try it sometime. Although a quick ruger with the skills to sneak up behind the enemy is really all I need.

Can anyone complete the LoneWolf training ? (complete it, and you are considered a lonewolf)

Teammatch, 1 vs 3, impossible mode, 60kills to win, 10 deaths you lose. (default time limit)
The ranking of LoneWolf training is based on your kill ratio.... for me it's always 10 : 1. Try it just for fun ! :D

Heh, the thing I love doing, is making bots impossible, m79 only, 8 on each team. Join spectator and enjoy the fun.

Uh, that doesn't give you any training... Just carnage. Also, I tried Lone_Wolf's training challenge and didn't manage to beat it, but I'm going to try again. I just hate it when you get a bot that uses Barret.

Yeah, I meant for fun. Who doesn't like watching little people blow each others guts across a map?

Hmm...I can´t say that i´m a friend of "bot-matches" but the idea is not bad...Nevertheless i think when someone plays more in realistic servers he should train in R/S servers and when someone plays more "normal" CTF he should train in some CTF servers...That is a better training than against these stupid bots [espacially this ****ing bogeymens!!!]. Caus bots play dumb and dull not like some real good   pwners in some servers!

I just make my own bots, give them 100% accuracy and any weapon I feel like fighting against. After that I place some four or five of them on death match in a very small place like Arena... two, I suppose.

Just wondering if any of you train at least once in your lifetime before diving into the real battles.

I do my training maybe once every month or so, and I call it the LoneWolf training.

Set 3 impossible bots with fully equipped weapons (no boogieman), teammatch, and to qualify a pass you must get 60kills. You lose if you get more than 10 deaths.
This must be done within the default time limit.

The goal here is to train you to avoid attacks from a lot of players, and make your shots count. If you manage to complete the LoneWolf training, you are considered a LoneWolf yourself. :)

Here's a screenshot of one of my completions of LoneWolf training.

As you can see the time ticking, that was a last 1 second kill. I was bleeding halfway too so if I missed I would've died for sure.

Please try it out, it's fun and challenging. Let me know if you qualify for the LoneWolf rank. :)

Update *

Here are a few consistent results of LoneWolf training.

Triple-way battle, most kills least deaths just like in training.

Got No.1 eventhough the opposing team outnumbered us and had better players.

Killed 22 men and scored 1 cap with in CTF_Knife with only 1 death... nearing the PERFECT KNIFE CTF MATCH....

Had two deaths in the end of the CTF_Knife match. Took out 5 more men.
1 cap 27 kills with 2 deaths. :)

So really, all that came from just a handful of LoneWolf training.
Do try it out and let me know what you think. :)

I made a new fresh thread because the old one didn't have pictures.
Apparently the hosting server eliminates the pictures. :(

Hmmmmmmmmm is there someone out there who completed the LoneWolf training ?

Tell me I am not alone. TELL ME.

I've done it a few times. But I didn't really bother to take screenshots as it wasn't something really amazing or anything.

What difficulty did you have the bots at?

If you plan to train with bots think about creating customized bots via SoldatBotMaker or something. They'll add variety and moves won't be as predictable ^-^
For signatures, you are allowed only one image in your signature which may not be wider and taller than 300 and 125 pixels, and may not be over 20kB in file size. No BMPs are allowed.

Cappy : Do it again and share your awesome screens, I'm sure you can do it again easily. :)
I want to see your K/D ratio as well. The minimum rating would be 6kills/1death, and as you can see I had 10kills/1death ratio.

Zero: The difficulty setting of the bots is impossible.

.Long-Range : Customized bots, interesting. :) Will try it out sometime.

Hustler : Yeah, !Elite Slicers days were fun. Good times, good times. :)
