i was just wondering because i've been sailing on a tallship for a few days and was wondering how i'd go if i jumped into the water off the topgallant mast [33m up]
Probably in salt water over fresh, because you float better in salt.

There is a sport or hobby that a lot of people do. I forgot what its called but the people jump from like 60 feet to 80 feet. But they are trained athletes. Plus the world record id 115 ft. But no matter what it has to hurt.

The human body is slightly less dense than fresh water which, in turn, is slightly less dense than salt water. Since anything of low density always floats above high density (this is why we don't have an atmosphere of water over oceans of air) and that buoyancy increases as the difference in density increases, humans float better in salt water than in fresh water.
Did it hurt?

whats the highest possible distance you could fall into water if you were doing a back/front flip and most likely wouldn't land correctly
Quote from: Captain Ben on July 13, 2007, 08:17:45 pmwhats the highest possible distance you could fall into water if you were doing a back/front flip and most likely wouldn't land correctlyRegardless of your chances of survival, I wouldn't do it. If a body slap hurts as much as it does at 20 ft., it's not going to feel much better at 80+ ft.
