MySpace
« on: July 13, 2007, 06:46:03 pm »
Alright, I admit, I gave in to creating a MySpace account.
A friend told me you could write your own CSS (style) and some other friends were already asking me to create a myspace for a long time so I couldn't resist any longer. So, if any of you are absolutely fond of me and want to print one of my pictures to hang above your bed, here's your chance :P. Oh and, add me as a friend, since many of my friends are on vacation I seem kind of friendless right now with only 13 friends :(.

So I created a MySpace, something I thought I'd never do. Anyway, I'm interested in your 'MySpaces', so let this be a list of MySpace accounts.
I'll try to keep the first post up-to-date, though I can't promise anything.

I used to have a MySpace but then I canceled my profile.  I didn't feel a need to have one and I rarely ever checked it.  You should do the same.

I just used an e-mail address I rarely use for MySpace. In the beginning i did get contacted by several "MySpace playmates" after laughing for a while I just denied all those I didn't know personally, that's done in under 2 minutes.
For the rest, just turn on all "security measures" (approval for comments and such) and you're pretty safe. A hint though, do not use your main e-mail address, you'll get alot of mail in the beginning.

I don't feel like giving up that account yet, but I don't think I'll ever update it again unless my friends start complaining again.

/sir_vltava it is. MySpace completely kills all code. No # or JavaScript. And it's tough to make IE-friendly, too, even with a div that covers all of it.

Edit – Eh, I was on the verge of killing my MySpace and just did, 'cause all it was good for was customization. Facebook has everything else MySpace has anyhow, plus Web 2.0.

Woh woh woh, we're nerds for NOT joining myspace? That's a new one. MySpace is definitely the garbage pit of social networking sites.

wow. i guess a place so popular that it has it's own songs out on the radio stations must really suck. >.> well in my opinion not nerds, but not social people. it's like you guys have started a nerdy anti-myspace club. this internet situation reminds me of school which i don't want to think about because it's summer.

well in my opinion not nerds, but not social people. it's like you guys have started a nerdy anti-myspace club.

*gasp* Could this be the thing they call...real life?  Having friends that you visit and hang out with?  Man, it's good that you were there to tell me how antisocial I was, simply because I prefer real friends to virtual ones.
Gamer_2k4

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Best Admin: jrgp, he's like the forum mom and a pet dog rolled into one.

Ah, stop being so childish all!

You don't have to choose between "having real friends or virtual friends". I've got tons of real friends and tons of virtual friends, and MySpace has very little influence in that. All that matters is how you are in real life and how you behave.
MySpace is just a website where you can create a profile and link it to other people, who gives a damn if those people are virtual or real? I'd accept some fellow Soldaters too, but right now my list only consists of people I know personally.

It's not nerdy to refse to create a MySpace profile, it's a choice that should be respected. However, is it because you're too lazy, just don't want to, ... or because your friends say it is 'nerdy' and you don't have an opinion yourself?

Think about it, this is a stupid website, not some kind of club that requires you to have a special firemark.

Despite all this, I'd like to stay on-topic and continue sharing MySpace profiles.
