Hey. I haven't posted any maps in here for months now, but that doesn't mean I'm not working on any. On the contrary, I've been pumping out maps one after another ( like Cobra ), but I'm not releasing them on the forums. Why? Because most of the people here are useless fags when it comes to mapping. The mapping community is dead, but this place refuses to admit it. So anyway, just to show some stuff:

What the hell is wrong with you Demonic?  These maps are sick and need to be released here.  Forget what everyone else says, I like them. :)

Could you put up a download link for those of us who enjoy nice soldat maps?

Well except the last one, you need to find new innovating layouts....Actually the last one's top route is quite unplayable (it's probably not finished so meh).

I'm with mar77a, that map style is old.

No negative crictism?

Well, I can't think of anything except that the fade.bmp scenery in the first overview contrasts too sharply (the edges of it). And the overviews are really grainy, not to mention the grainy texture as well.

Compliments does nothing to help improve the mapper. Criticism and tips on how to improve the maps made by the mapper will increase their skills in mapping.

What if the map is great? There is no reason why compliments should make you hate the mapping community.

Second: Mapping. The map forums have always been a touchy area, but I've yet to feel the weight of the several dozen tons of **** that weights it. It's not hard duty keeping it in place, but you guys certainly deserve a bashing for this one too. If someone makes a map, unless he has half a hundred noses in his ass, he won't get replies at all. And if he gets replies? Hah! Most of it is useless, utter crap. "Nice map", "lookin gud lol" or "I like it"... how do you think does that help a mapper? There's only a minority of people who actually give constructive criticism which help mappers to improve their work.
Swallowing all that does not make me vomit all the **** back on you though... the best is yet to come. Maps aren't being downloaded or played! I think it's not far from the truth to say that only one of every tenth map gets downloaded, and chances are the map is a visual wonder, yet it's as fun to play as starring the heroine in some bukkake movie.

Oh, I'm sure there is a reason.

Even the best of mappers still have room to improve. Apparently I was half-right. Thanks E_A.

Demonic is right though. But I think the whole Soldat community has been soiled since last year.
Too bad then. I still admire you Demonics, and I understand your point. It's sad. However there are still some active mappers out there who've done some nice works. There is still hope.
Those maps look wonderful anyway.

They go from best to worst.

 :p

But yeah, mapping's pretty much dead. I'd like to map more if I had the time...

I think you need to release these maps Demonic, they're really good.  Although, they might not gain as much attention, some people like Keron Cyst, Me, and others will still have time to review them over and judge them.

In the first map you should use a beam, not a fade.

Nice to see you guys sorted this out while I was gone (:

Yeah, I'm not releasing these, because after playtesting, they proved to be pretty crap - as mar77a put, the layouts are just not fit for it. They are more of experiments though, I might finish the third one, but it's not really fulfilling my hopes either. Once I make a map that I'm cocksure of blowing all of you away - I'll whine until it gets in by default. So there. HAH.

While you're here, I wondered, if you meant to knock off b2b with the first two? They just seem very similar layout wise. Also, COBRA IS TOO MUCH LIKE SNAKEBITE!!! Damn you!
