well thats also an interpretation\. the bible is metaphorical and metaphors can  mean different things to different people. like with the works of Nostradamus

you cannot form an interpretation on the metaphor by reading only a small portion of the metaphor

What about babies that die when they are 2 days old? They didnt have time to accept God or Jesus or who ever. Do they go to hell?
No I truly believe those babies go to heaven.
As do I. Heaven is a place free from sin; we're only excluded from it BECAUSE we have sinned. Two day old babies don't have a chance to sin, so they go to heaven.

EDIT: I'd try to look up verses for you guys, but the last time I tried to reply, 9 new posts were made. This means I have to be brief.

I thought christian babies are born with "original sin" (the Christian teaching that all humans are sinful at birth or are born with a tendency to sin). Wouldnt that mean that 2 day old babies that die go to hell?

My opinion of what the bible is is that it was a story created by some guy a long time ago (similar to that of something like the LOTR series these days ... purely for entertainment and an escape) and other people (disciples) have decided to add bits and pieces to it (fan fic) and it has all come together to form the bible as we know it. It seems you do believe in the adam and eve thing, how do you explain the dinosaur skeletons and all the other proofs of evolution?

If you are directing that at me Psycho, i do not believe in Adam and Eve. IMO it the biggest bullcrap somebody decided to make up somehow make people believe. Dinosaurs on the other hand have solid, concrete evidence as does the big bang since scientist have found galaxies far away are accelerting outwards due to changes in their red-shift as observed by Hubble. I'm a believer in science =]

if you mean whiskey and such, they are made only in northern Europe and America because northern Europeans emigrated because the grape frost died out a long time ago. The area where Jesus was had no hard liquor it is possible hard liquor wasn't even invented.

well shivorken I was actually directing my question at †

If people are prone to so much sin and God doesnt want us to sin then i have to ask....Why did God create humans to be prone to sin? Is this some kind of sick joke?
Originally we were not prone to sin, but Adam and Eve were tricked into eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Which this caused humans to be prone to sin.

and I agree it sounds very made up.

heh and if † says that god put the dino skeletons there on purpose or something, it would just be stupid (but I dont think he will)

religion is an issue that shall never be solved. there is starting to be a rise in atheism though so im predicting religion will become useless for everyday life and basicaly disapear.

heh yea if he spent 7 days on making little crappy earth he should have used a few trillion years making planets after that.

but the bible says it was NOTHING before the earth, and he made the earth and then rested on the 7th day.

well he hasn't woke up yet.
but if he was such a slow ass on making earth he wouldnt have time to create the other near infinite number of planets in our universe.

Religion was popular because people were scared of it and it was powerful. This gets passed onto new generations and eventually it becomes bleeding obvious that its probably a load of bull. But i still have my doubts.

Guys please stay on topic here... this is an "Ask a christian" topic not an atheist convention... im not usually this concerned but i really dont want this locked... But you did help me think of a question that i'd like to ask gram...

Gram, Do you think we are alone in the universe?  And in the bible does it say ANYWHERE that earth is the only planet god tends to?  And if we find an intelligent species elsewhere in the universe what does that do to your religions reputation?
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
Ill see you on the dark side of the moon

One Gram, do you believe that Christianity will past the test of time? Lets say we go too the year 11456 AD. Christianity will still be prevalent or will something like Brave New World happen?

[Edit]: and my apologies for desecrating this topic with my previous 4 posts.
