Why are you Atheist?  And what is your explanation for the creation of everything?  (thats kind of a joke question since noone can answer it but answer it any way lol)  Were your parents religious and if so what religion did they belong to?  Did they ram their religion down your throat?  And have you ever been religious?

ok I could also answer to that.

I'm an atheist because i see no sense in religion, altough I respect anyone's beliefs. Whatever fills your boat...

My explanations for the creation of the universe is.. we are actually a really small part of a molecule beneath a giant creature's fingernail. The creature just didn't clipped their fingernails yet :P

My parents, hmm catholic atough my dad isn't very religious. They actually don't haev time to be.

My mother did, mainly for some bigger catholic events...  sacraments and bullshit

I have never been religious. I find it a waste of time and not very logical.

And ffs people don't confuse naturalists with atheists :d

Why am I an Atheist? - Because I see absolutely no evidence in favour of any religious beliefs in existance... If there was a giant old mans face in the sky then I probably would believe in something... But for an omnipotent God, he's certainly hard to locate.

My personal explanation of how the universe created is one that changes slightly over time as scientific understanding grows... those of you who have heard of the "Hubble ultra deep field" will know that they pointed the hubble telescope into an empty region of space and saw very old universes from billions of years ago.. and one day they may even be able to see so far back that they see light from near the beginning of the universe. I agree with the big bang theory.

My parents as far as I know aren't religious.. well my dad is an atheist, I think my mum is a little more agnostic. But my parents never fed me any religious insight... they never told me what to believe. In fact they never discussed it with me when I was young. - I actually went to a Christian primary school where we'd sing religious hymns in assembly.. and yes I did sing along, although at that age I probably wasn't aware that they were so explicitly religious.

I have never believed in God... when I was younger I wasn't as sure as I am now... I was a little more agnostic and gullible to some extent... I was upset when my mum told me santa wasn't real.

Do you believe everything began with evoulution and stuff?

In laymans terms... yes.

If Atheist believe there is no God Isn't atheist itself a religion? O.o

It's a system of belief. All religions are systems of belief... But I don't consider it to be a religion because religon is based on faith and not fact.

He's omnipotent and a deity, and therefore not of this world. You cannot see wind but you know it exists from the effects it can cause, such as papers fluttering around in an office from a fan or open window.

So what... whats that got to do with God... science backs up the wind thing.  I really dont think thats a valid point.

The point was to dissuade his argument of "If I can't see it it doesn't exist" - this of course doesn't apply to wind. Of course scientific evidence backs it up, but he's automatically brushing off God because he can't see him.

See, this is why I stay out of a Serious Discussion - I never portray my thoughts well enough. I'm not trying to prove anything.

The only reason he created this topic is because of the "Ask a Christian" thread - he's just being a smartass.

I believe I have a lot of hair on my big toe, is that belief automatically a religion?

The answer is obviously no because if you want to start defining things like that, then exercise would be considered a religion among other things. Religion involves belief, worship and practice, which athiesm does not.

There are plenty of places to turn to other than a God.  God should never replace your parents...
