Battleye? New autoupdate patch?
« on: July 19, 2007, 12:25:17 pm »
I just wanted to play Soldat

(yesterday I also played) but today it said Battleye VIOLATION

i dont know what!

so I downloaded the new patch and proceded to install, unfortunate the new patch couldnt install caus of a .dll file that couldnt install

so I went to reinstall soldat 1.4 then 1.4>>1.4.1 then the last patch (the previouse one I couldnt install, cuz I dont have it)

but this time, the latests Patch DID install, so I went to play and it said BATTLEYE VIOLATION

and got kicked

some people claim they havent even downloaded the latest patch, so is it autoupdate?

WHy am I being kicked if I DID install it succesfully?

I ALREADY installed the last patch, the one that you MUST install (the previouse Battleye patch you had to extract files and place them in the folder)

is it because I havent placed the files in the soldat folder? or whats up?

Check the exact kick message and watch out for pink BE error messages before that.

Also, what OS are you on?

And are you sure you really installed the BE update (with the installer): http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=16038.0 ?

I'm getting kicked from servers from time to time for Battle Eye violation. Funny thing that I played like 4-5 matches on the same server, then got kicked and banned after that.

Is there a .new file in your BattlEye folder? Can you remove it?

inside the Battleye FOLDER:

BEClient_x86.dll

BEServer_x86.dll

version.txt (inside this one says):

6
/afterupgrade

no more files inside battleye folder

Did you change the permissions Soldat has? Obviously it cant create the .new file, so I guess Soldat doesnt have the permission to modify the BattlEye folder.

Could you check that?

Right click on the BE folder and check the properties. You need to give your user write permissions there.

Btw, you have XP Professional (not Home), right?

You had no problems because you most likely didnt play on a BE server?

no, I did play on a BE server, like 2 days ago came a new patch and I didnt let me play, I tried to install it but couldnt, the installer couldnt install a .dll file or whatever, then I reinstalled soldat and installed full the patch but couldnt play (battleye problem, idk what it said) so I installed the patch from the soldat folder and played fine until 11am this morning when it said:

BattlEye Client: Failed to create update file
BattlEye Client: Update attempt failed

IDK why but it said that, and yesterday it didnt, and I've been playing all time long on the SAME server

How do I give writing permissions on the folder? teach me, its professional I believe (win xp)

couldnt you make battleye just be updated by copy-pasting files to the folder?
