I'd rather "donate" $50 to play a professionally-designed game than $20 dollars to play...

Hey umm.. have you decided what engine you're using?

I used to map for various quake engine games... specifically Quake 3 Arena, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty...

I'm completely literate with quake mapping and know alot about the engine.. I even tried to make my own game with it once but gave up because I couldn't be bothered to learn C++ or get MSC++V to compile the engine with.

The engine is not needed. The software I am using will make the engine along with the gameplay. Also most older computers will most likely lag on internet game play due to graphics and such. Espadon wtf are you talking about just because your iq is as much as a tea spoon of sugar doesn't mean all of us are in the same mold.

Using my vast moderator powers, I have seen into the future and this project fails.

Let me begin: Your weapons and the pictured "room" have too many polygons, what the hell, they will lag everything to death. You can achieve the same level of quality using less polygons and proper lighting and textures.

Secondly, you guys seem a little flippant. You actually rubbed me the wrong way, and that takes a little bit of effort. Will you get money from me? No. The programs you are using are (probably) free and I don't see why you need/require a donation in the first place.

Finally, I won't lock this because I could use a good laugh. I'm also removing your poll since you have found the name for your game. I do wish you luck, though.

If you're talking about that FPS creator program.. count me out, I'm afraid.

If you were absolutely serious about this you'd probably start from scratch using a freeware game engine and compiling the source code yourself, not using a program that does all the work for you.

I have my reasons, I don't work with prefab meshes, I prefer making poly-brush models from scratch to keep the fps nice and low and you simply can't do it with that.

I also agree alot with Lapis... Sorry, but for now your storyline is... well it leaves alot to be desired... it's not exactly Gears of War is it.

And as I see the $53 that have been donated were probably used to buy your copy of FPS creator (if that is what you're using) FPS creator certainly isn't FPS-friendly.. I've got a low-mid end computer and I played a game on it that lagged me to death.

Powers what powers. If that power involves you looking into a cracker jack box and seeing what you get as power then thats sad. Also polygons is what makes soldat maps so I guess its made with to many polys.  I wouldn't want to rub shoulders from you either I don't think I want the trash smell on me. The program probably cost more than your computer in the first place.

Mangled you can make your models and have them moved into the program its all good. Gears of War lmao do you think we are 600 programmers working on 1 poly for 600,000$ just to get it finished. If your expecting Gears of War then this game isn't for you because I'm just one guy so get that through your thick skull (unless your to stupid to comperhend that). The story line isn't made by me ask Flacid about it.

The 53$ was going to website and server which was going to be placed in a locked account until August 28th 2007.

As for your low end computer I feel sorry for you, but if your cpu can't handle it then you can't handle it.

Babble

Actually it appears you just skimmed through my post... I was talking about the storyline in comparrison to something which is also cliché but commercially successful... I know it will be nothing like Gears... since you don't have a million dollars to buy rights to the Unreal 3 Engine.

I was just talking with my experience of making game content... first of all you need a solid storyline with alot of consistancy. I'll tell you about the storyline of a game I was previously going to make... It was a sort of horror-fps set on an a huge abandoned spacecraft in the future used for transporting cargo and prisoners... with a gauntlet of problems as you head through the game.. such as power failures, nuclear reactor meltdowns, crazed mercenaries etc... sort of Doom3 style, worse graphics but cooler gameplay...

never got far with it though.
