What happened to everyone making movies?
« on: July 21, 2007, 03:00:37 am »
In the past we used to see as many as 2-3 new movies coming out per week, most of which were decent but even the ones that sucked were good because the people who made them often worked at it more and came out with better ones.

Is anyone out there working on making Soldat videos?  I miss seeing lots of new ones coming out and seeing people make quality stuff.  They're great for advertising Soldat and I'm sure it is a great way to spend a decent amount of time doing something constructive as well.

So... anyone?

I've wondered that for a long time. When was the last time a movie came out? Maybe all the people that made them have quit soldat, or maybe no one can be bothered anymore.

I have an unfinished movie sitting on my hard drive. It's been there for.. two or three months now. Possibly even more. Don't know when I'll get around completing it, I'm out of motivation.

If I had proper video editing software and a screen recorder that didn't uber lag my PC then I would make an awesome Soldat video to rock the world! Mwhahahha.

Same here o.0
Weird thing is that I only get them while viewing demos and not actually PLAYING in Soldat.

There was some sort of Red vs Blue Project, but it somehow died. I was hoping it would be cool series.

thing about movies is that you have to download what, anything between 10-200 mbs, while looking at a comic takes about 10 seconds.

a lot of people just don't watch the movies.

I have a great story line for a movie but I'm way too tied up atm...  making scripts, at work, school preparations...  Plus I don't really know how to throw together a good movie...  :-\
Can't think of anything original to put here...

I could finish some random action movie if i get more demos. I couldn't play demos from previous games someday and deleted them. I have some clips from 1.3.1 lol. Need about 1 min of action for the video.
Just pointless.

There's this thing called Autodemo - option in the soldat settings. It records about 30 seconds in unregitered version. if you do something awesome, you press F8 and it's saved.

Ah, I miss seeing all of the new movies as well. I would try my hand at creating one in Vegas, but the simple fact of the matter is (besides lacking the artistic talent for such an endeavor) that I'm just too damned lazy to sort through all of my demos, which number about 1,600 at the moment (occupying a space of a little under 7 gigs). Most of them, I'm sure, contain no decent footage or awesome moments at all. I think that I'm just F8 happy sometimes.

I hate auto-record since it only records that 3 minutes and then starts a new one

edit: failed with text placement

If you're registered, you can set autodemo to record for any amount of time. Go into your soldat.ini and search for Record_Time. Set it to whatever you'd like. I set mine to some random extremely high number to ensure that I get the full match at the end of a map.

That unlimited recording was only for registered users, but was later made available for everybody.
Look in the version history as I can't be arsed finding out exactly which one.
