I used to love LEGO when I was a kid, but LEGO of my time was Pirates, Castle etc. not some Star Wars & Harry Potter crap.

Explorines, ftw! Sure it was back in 1998 or so but the huge Explorines ship was so damn good looking (well at least I thought so back then). The alien buggers or whatever, that was also a nice set, except that the vehicles were a little too much like grasshoppers and houseflies for my entomological taste.

following the instructions is easy, any idiot can do it, but making your own creation is way more fun.

I loved the old lego designs, and if a set came back from the old days, I'd buy it. Black Falcon's Castle, Amazon Ancient Ruins, Black Sea Barracuda, sigh...

(I only have the first two of the above, but I'm eyeing the latter.)

And yes, a-4-year-old, you are excactly right. Creating your own creations without instructions is way more fun. But I also find building creations, instructions or no, the most fun of all. It was especially fun building the Star Destroyer with what pieces they used from the old days.

My pictures of some of my creations

Expensive Restaurant and getaway place

Old-school Ship
^This I've managed to build finding almost all of the necessary pieces. At least 5 is missing or replaced. This was built from a VERY old instruction booklet.^

Weapon of mass destruction in tank mode
Weapon of mass destruction in flying mode

Scout car with chaingun in front

Flying ship with rocket launchers and flick-fire capabilities

Heavy tank with treads

Light tank with tires

Sorry for the mediocre picture quality.

I think Legos are great for anyone at any age. But my parents... Dad... had reason to believe that, at the age of 9, I was too old for Legos. So he gave them to my cruddy cousins who appreciate nothing.

Wow, I love legos, I have like 2 whole boxes full of it. I'll get in some pcitures, I've made my own forts, mini castles, ships etc.

And the really cool part is the official lego store is in the mall near us... kicks ass.
Remember, its all fun and games 'till someone gets hurt.. then its hilarious.

I loved legos and i still do. But i can't really make anything good. I can make a couple of cars but thats it. When i was a kid i would have kids build it for me and then i would play with it. My friends are pros at legos.

You know, it's weird. I see a year's worth of ninja sets in catalogs, then a year's worth of pirate catalogs......set two years apart.

When will they officiate a ultimate war between the ninja fortress and the pirate ships?
