Cheating
« on: July 25, 2007, 10:13:15 am »
I'm just curious. Is it forbidden to cheat in Soldat? (Like being banned for it) And if so, is it forbidden even against bots?

Yes, it is forbidden in all cases. Even just with friends. It is a violation of the Soldat agreement which you agreed to when you installed Soldat.

HAHA enesce...
.......

SM: There are very good reasons why it's illegal.  You don't want the PIA (Polish Intelligence Agency) to come knocking on your door for violating MM's agreements.... jk - but it still is really bad even if just against your friends.

If you want to do something to have fun with your friends try writing ur own weapons mod.  You can make weapons fire Rocket projectiles at 3 rockets / second or whatnot...  it can get fun to do crazy stuff like that.  have a socom fire bullets with no recoil time and full bink!  You'll have a crazy houz party.  Or .1 second recoil time for automatic M79 projectiles!  when you fire a row of these, as soon as the first one explodes they all explode (cuz they're in range) creating an arc of explosions!!!

you avoided hacking by doing this too.  You can also look into scripting if you got computer programming experience.  Make people be invisible all the time and go crazy!
Can't think of anything original to put here...

Yeah, sometimes weapon modding or scripting is much more fun than hacking or cheating.

I think he's talking about the BattlEye anti-cheat system, which got implemented into Soldat 1.4.

You can get banned from servers for cheating, but if you want to have fun against bots just write your own weapon mod.

I seriously doubt that most players take the time to read the license agreement.

They take all of their anger out on Soldat because of that.

But i bet that at least 50 % of all players, have cheated  at least once.
For fun or for real, it doesn't matter, but if you cheat in a game full of bots, no one will know, so it won't really matter, it may be immorale(To an extent) but meh.

I've cheated one time when I was playing witch bots to test some new weapons and then I realized that it has no sense.

I can honestly say that I've never cheated. The point of a game is to be challenged, so whats the point in cheating? Plus some published hacks have viruses in them.
