Simpsons movie
« on: July 27, 2007, 06:22:03 pm »
Anyone here see it? I just got back from seeing it with my brother and I gotta say they did it great. I didn't stay after the credits too see if there was anything then, mainly cause I hate doing that.

Well I don't know....The Simpsons hasn't been funny lately. Actually for a couple of years. I used to watch it every Sunday when I was a kid, then it started to become like a chore hoping that maybe something funny will happen....and it doesn't.

I love the simpsons... but in the trailer I saw... it looked like they payed MUCH more attention to the drawings, and made it un-simpsons-ish. I do, however, think that's just a small difference almost nobody notices, and I really want to see the movie. That one, Reno 911: miami, transformers, and die hard 4.0

It looked alright.

Groening described his desire to also make the film dramatically stronger than a TV episode, as "we wanna really give you something that you haven't seen before. There are moments you actually forget that you're watching a cartoon and that is difficult when you have characters as ugly as the Simpsons."

Bah, I'd say they're even. South park is getting good again, and Family guy is getting worse.

I agree, for a few years now the storys just seem padded-out and forced. Like, i'll look in the TV guide and it says what the main part of the story is, like (just making something up) someone goes to live with them. But the first half of the show seems to be a random chain reaction, that lads to the main event. Like Homer will do something, which leads to something else, which leads to another thing, then the main part. I dunno, it's hard to explain but i'm not fond of the new episodes. Also, the movie didn't look that good to me, from the trailers.

The only "adult" cartoon I crave for more episodes is Aqua Teen Hunger Force, however, some episodes are very boring.

The last funny episode I ever watched of the Simpsons was the episode were the family get to house-sit for Mr Burns and they fuck the place up. Then it went downhill and they had to rely on jokes about American news that I didn't understand.

Still, going to see the movie on Tuesday, I'll tell ya'll how it went.
