The Steyr AUG on the weapon selection screen is the military version which has a built in scope. But if I choose it, it does not "zoom" any more than another weapon such as the AK-74, even when I am crouched or laying down.

Another thing, not important enough for its own topic, is the fact that the weapon select screen only says MP5. The little icon shows the retractable stock, so I'm assuming it's the MP5A5. It's not really important, but it's kind of like listing the AK-74 as the AK.

this has too much bink to be used effectively with a scope, besides, it would offset the balance of the guns

Steyr Aug used to scope a bit in Soldat 1.0.5b...it was awesome

What was awesome was Barret's interval was 2 seconds, soooo unbalanced back then.

No. Unless there was a thing which made it so you could only use the scope, you couldnt shoot while in scope mode.

Um... no. The AUG is fine as it is. It does not need a scope to make it even more effective. Even while laying down or crouching there's still a lot of bink.

If it was given a scope then its strength should also be toned down a bit. Just a bit. I don't care either way.

HaHa, your dumb because the steyr doesnt fire a .50 cal round which rips the poor little soldat in half.

And i think the MP5 is just a standard Heckler & Kosch MP5

I think it should get a scope, even if it still has the usual bink. The scope would only work when crouched, and it wouldn't affect the bink, etc. Just a small tool for scouting ahead.

Idea is no good. As mentioned - would screw up balance issues. At this point, the whole balancing issue has narrowed down to about 1 or 2 weapons. Let's not start over by adding a scope to the steyr

As for the Aug, I do not see much of a point. It isn't powerful enough to get a 1 hit headshot kill (unless they are injured of course).

instead of adding bullshit to weapons, how about just include binoculars if yount to scope so much, you cannot shoot while binocing thow and its easier to prevent getting barretarded.

That'd take too much work. In the time you'd take to pull out your binoculars and scope ahead, a person could jump you and you'd be standing there stupified... with a pair of binoculars in your hands.

i've advocated this previously on the old forums. even forgetting realism, the steyr needs a little bit more in-game.

Hmm...if there was I scope (which I don't think would work well) what if, while in scope mode, the AUG fired only in single mode?

to handle the steyr is not very easy, but with a scope I think it'll we overpowered, so it's the new "n00b-weapon" I think the steyr is perfect right now =)

There is no "MP5." It's used a lot to refer to any MP5 model, but there is no plain "MP5."

About the AUG scope, I only suggested it because the AUG that is displayed shows a scope. Why have it there if you can't use it? Either implement it or don't show it...

And think before you post some crap about it being a barret with a 30 round magazine. The scope on an AUG is definately weaker than one on a sniper rifle. Sorry to mention Counter-Strike here, but the AUG on CS definately isn't as powerful as the AWP and the the range that its scope can zoom in does not even come close to that of the AWP.

yes, the ruger should have at least a weak scope, now that were on the subject of scoping. a hunting rifle, of course you would not neccesarily have a scope, but you would focus and get a precise aim, so it essence it should give a scope. just a small one. take out the enemies with the small clip it has before they get there =]

I always thought the one in the game was the MP5A3. Maybe im mixing up my models, i used to be an MP5 nut in real life as well as soldat lol.

you could add a scope to a ruger if it had 8 shots and 2xsmaller damage.
