forums messed up 2.0
« on: July 31, 2007, 06:59:30 am »
This slow service happens every once in a while, usually I don't wait for the page to load and instead retry the link, that usually works just fine. Today it didn't.

Firefox 2.0.0.5

see picture for details.

Yeah, this seems to be happening more and more lately. I updated Firefox to 2.0.0.5 yesterday and remember this happening occasionally on the version before it.

It seems to only goes crazy and take a lot longer occasionally. For the majority of the time, it generates in under a second.

I think it's problem with Firefox. I started using Opera after my Firefox stoped to show any site (IE was working without any problems).

That would be very strange.
The time indicated on the page is calculated by the server, not by the client. So basically the server doesn't know what browser you're using.
What I'm guessing is that the server was just busy at that time, there are other things running on it too, probably.
Anyway, this is "FLAB-Food", he'll definitely know the answer, just needs to notice this topic :).

It isn't really possible that it is a bug in Firefox.  I'll check it out

I made another change to the server's DNS configuration that should make this problem go away, and make normal pageloads even faster

The page load time has absolutely nothing to do with the browser you use... the "timer" that counts that starts and finishes on the server side when it receives the page request until it starts sending it. Regardless of what browser you use ;p
