There are no lovers, but they are all haters.
There are one-hitters, and there are sprayers.
There is the slaughtered, and there are the slayers.
There are no dominant weapons, just dominant players.

You cant really tell. In soldat the weapons are all very balanced. It really does depend on the user.

M79 due to its ease of usability.

Ruger 77 to its high amount of damage and semi-quick fire rate.

If skilled with, knives can really create a body pile.

Spas-12 is fast, and deals a lot of damage, especially on maps like ctf_Equinox.

Barrett for its damage amount, yet it is slow and bink effect is high.  Really tones it down.

M79 due to its ease of usability.

How can you say that it's easy to use m79? The bullets are flying slow, and they arch a lot...

IMHO, the most dominant weapon is Steyr AUG

I would say Dual-Eagles. 3-4 Shot kill, fast reload time, and medium range.

But in the otherhand, m79 and Barret-M82A1 are top killers, due 1 shot kill.
On Close quarters combat, m79 dominates. It has no bink or move acc.

In my opinion, it depends very much about map and player.
Even it doesn't bleed, doesn't mean we can't kill it!

Because such a game is dependent so much on the map, gametype, and player skill, nothing except for empirical data can tell you the most dominant weapons in terms of # of kills.

That is only if you believe the most dominant weapons to be the ones with the most kills of course. But the potency of each weapon can multiply greatly with the skill of the player.

The point is that there are TOO MANY VARIABLES to determine the most dominant weapon overall.

In some situations the nature of a weapon makes it the most dominant.  One example: 1v1's

If a perfectly accurate barret user faces a perfectly accurate user of any other weapon, then the barret will almost ALWAYS win. Why? Because of the one-shot-kill. Against a m79 user, the barret does have the delay. However, the barret always ties or trumps the m79 when the delay of the barret is <= the time it takes for the m79 shell to arrive at the barreters location, resulting in a kill. The only time this delay is trumped is extreme close range or when the m79's arc creates a chord out of the barrets line of sight with the barreter obstructed.

There is the occasion that another type of user can kill the perfect barret, but this is ONLY when the enemy catches the barret unawares long enough to disrupt his function (bink) and then score the kill.

So you can see from this example, that there are a great deal too many variables and hypotheticals to take into account for a question such as this. So I wouldn't even try. The only thing to do is change the balances in small ways and then TEST, then reassess, change if needed, retest, reassess. etc..

barrett

if you could have 100% hit rate with that no body could ever scratch you again

100% hit rate doesn't mean you can't get hit.

IMO, the Steyr is the best, in the right hands.
Of course, I don't play Realistic mode :/
But in normal mode, it just seems overpowered.
Not much self-bink, high rate of fire, and decent damage (per bullet).
I always get mowed when people whip out the Steyrs.

I think all of these are equally dominant, it depends on the user which weapon is dominant and which isn't.

Anyhoo, Barrett is the most dominant weapon in my opinion.

and you're right, it depends on people, there aren't dominant weapons.  wolfofman should've narrowd it a little. well, for now, AK is, since i don't play with barret much
