ADSL2+ is basically what the rest of the world gets for $20, except we pay like $60+ for it and only get burstable speeds up to 24Mbit.

Burstable 24Mbit is better then nothing.... stupidaustraliaanditslameinternets.

I vote in favour of /punish.

offtopicness: Enesce, why are your servers us based if you live in aus?

ONTOPIC: Vote kicking kinda contradicts the "dont let the hacker know they are annoying you" point...

re-offtopicness: because I dont play in australian servers, the community arent interested in servers there, and the community has issues.

Ontopic: Most of the time when I see a "hacker" in a server, I tend to grab a barrett & law and camp the suckers(unless its one of those annoying hacks where they go through the poly's and spawn-knife you, for that i use a saw to kill them). They tend to leave after awhile.

re-re-offtopicness: Well, it's your lag.

Even if the !admin thing doesnt work, sometimes they leave the server so that they dont risk getting banned from the server.

- Dont hack back, ever, even if its your server, it will just give the impression that what he is doing is ok and welcomed to soldat which its not.
I don't mean to justify hacking, but I recall someone on a server using a teleport cheat, and some guy kept calling him a leech and started hacking back. So basically the two hackers occupied each other and didn't disturb the rest of the game too much. I don't justify doing this though, because there are obviously more rational ways to stop, as mentioned above.

i guess a punish command would be neat, although just banning the person would be more effective.

When i see a hacker I try to encourage people to stack the hackers team so everyone's on one team, and the hacker has no competition.  It takes a while to organize and the hacker can easilly change teams too.

Nice lookin guide

Very nice guide indeed, good work!
EnEsCe I'm 100% for the /punish, it would make things way more interesting and annoying for the hacker. :)

lol my solution is a script that /kills the player every 3 seconds after they respawn, then when they leave the game = ban. Pisses em' right off.

Even if the !admin thing doesnt work, sometimes they leave the server so that they dont risk getting banned from the server.

Even if they do that and an admin comes, any admin that cares about his servers will go back in the server logs and ban the hacker.  Please seek an admin and report the hacker's name even if he already left.

There also has to be a /unpunish, because i know an admin or 2 who'd abuse this >_>

These are all very good ideas...  Especially that /punish one.

I never run servers b/c my router and firewall are retarded, but...
Don't you hate it when you're in a public server and there is a hacker who everyone knows is hacking, yet they are too lazy and/or dumb to press f12 for vote kick?  It pisses me the fuck off.

well, with luck I think EnEsCe might be working on some new anti-cheat code in the future server version's, and he's definately the right guy to have working on that sort of functionality

well, i liked this guide. It gave some suggestions. I dont see how ignoring a hacker will make him stop though.
Your acting like your having a duel and your opponent gets a pistol and you get a spork.
Isn't that pretty much what it is? I dunno wtf a spork is, I suppose it's way weaker than the pistol since you compared that to this.

"Try to get people to leave the server, because it will bore the hacker" Lawl. Isn't the sight of everyone leaving in frustration the kind of thing that makes hackers jizz in their pants? Many of them are just sadistic trolls who like seeing servers crumble by their hand.

I must have missed this one when I first read the list, I agree with Snowden on this.

Maybe there can be a script where server can inflect a fake lag on the hacker?
There are other worlds than these

the server currently doesn't support any scripts that would effect gameplay or network code
