You can even go with JPG at 100% quality, the size will still be much lower. Though the best way would be saving in JPG at 70% quality, which still looks very good and the file size is about 15 times smaller.

In photoshop at least. I have no idea how you people save images using the epic fail named "MS Paint". <_<

It's by far the quickest method. It takes me at least 10 seconds to get Gimp open, while I can open Paint in less than two seconds. The saving itself is much quicker aswell.

Well, I was referring to quality and filesize, rather than to speed.

Yeah, but the reason people actually save images with Paint is the speed. And as far as I recall, BMP has no quality loss so practically more complicated programs win only the size category.

If making a picture - which would take less than a couple of minutes to make on a real software - in two hours is your idea of "powerful"... Well yeah, it's not powerful.
