Greetings to all of you addicted (or maybe not so) Soldat players!

I'm writing this ("whining" topic) just to express my feelings about the Soldat Multiplayer life.

Soldat makes my day sterling, funnier and also satisfies my gamer needs. Thanks to this game I've met many people around the Planet, with whom almost every day I share my spare time.

But these are the most precious moments, the rare ones, unlike those I experience in let's say 70% of the servers.

I love playing in Multiplayer just for this one moment when I enter the server, greet the players and when they greet me back politely. It fills your soul with joy then, isn't that true? You start to feel like a part of all this.
All of you become one. Unlike the server where you enter, greet and get no answer or even see:
"Shut up biotch" or "Stop spamming n3rd!" (Sorry for the bad words I used)

Let's get INTO the game itself. I enter TrenchWars. And as usually, I pick up AK as a primary weapon and a combat knife as secondary. I'm ready to own. But what do you know? Before I even got the chance to FLY, some mega-extra-giga-"pro" pinns me down with his Spas-12 and starts taunting around:
"That's GOTTA hurt!" and "pwn0r3d!"

Don't you just hate that moment?

Ok, let's go again. I fly up and see an enemy. Dear God, the Spas "pro" again. I say to myself: "I gotta take that guy down". And I seriously start shooting at him (NOTICE: I'm not spraying but firing single shots)
Some 7 bullets are already in his body, but WHAT DO YOU KNOW? He's still moving! Putting in some more, but before you realize, the little wise guy, without even AIMING fires a careless round from his Spas-12 and it tears your flesh, taking you 50 meters back with fly hack speed, seeing your dead Soldat body smashing its head in the nearby wall...totally lifeless. Humiliated. Pwned.

The andrenalin rises up... You've just became the laughing target of all players. No matter that you called the guy "spasshole", even with the right to. What do you get in return? I'll tell you:

"Oh stop whining" - the best you can get/bargain
"Is whining all you can do?"
"Whiner sprayer" - I can tell you one thing, Spas "pros" - AK has the biggest fire interval of all automatic weapons in Soldat.

But still, the Spasshole wins the argue with the words: "Stop whining and play with Spas. It's allowed here so I'll pwn whoever I want."

And so? Spas is allowed in real life too, but does that mean I should buy one and strike an orphanage?

Just admit it, you hate it when you put in so much effort and precision to kill somebody who pulls out a Spas-12 and "w00shes" you away to the end of the map with a single shot from a distance not so close.

Something else I really hate is the so called "Spas b00st".

People actually use this "b00st" to make their teammates go "fast0r than teh wind" but actually it's a knife with two blades in most occasions @_@
I failed scoring at least 10 times thanks to that boost. And on TrenchWars that thing sent me to the wires or the "dead-zones" in the map.



Ok, enough for Spas...

Let's start with Ruger. Oh yeah, my personal hate-favourite.

It's known of its high-power, long-range possibilities. Just amazing! This weapon is the perfect choice for someone new in the game or EVEN for a person without hands! So cool!
It is capable of piercing 2 or 3 people one behind eachother from a distance more than 50 meters! Noobazing!

You can rarely meet someone who hates Ruger in Multiplayer. Because that weapon is also allowed and it also pwns.
Mostly the hates towards this weapon's user are: "Ruger*****" or "Ruger retard"

But I've created the ultimate word for the Ruger user: "Rugeretard". Along with my other word for Spas users: "Spasshole", I have the awesome dictionary to shut almost every "pro" up.

OK, I suppose that you know the piercing possibilities of Ruger. And its "slow" reload time.

Enough for Ruger. Let's meet our best friend - the Chainsaw.

Umm, I like the look of it. In the early days after the release of 1.4.1, I met the most unique description for  the modification of the Saw. The guy said: "lol, the Chainsaw took viagra "   

Yeah, and it can pwn you well in fine closed tunnels. You can't escape from it.

I just love running through a tunnel with the enemy flag in my hands when this Saw user shows up and chops my head off. Taunts: "s4w p0w3r! r04r!"

No comment...

Now Steyr Aug or my word for it: "Sprayr Aug".

I think that someone in the modding crew oversprayed this weapon.

Love being binked to hell until my cursor takes the entire screen. Mmm, spraylecious.

There's no cure for the "Sprayr" desease. Though I use it when I just can't handle those rugeretards and spassholes.

Yes, a big part of the Soldat players would just call this whining. Yeah?

Since when showing off your oppinion is whining? You communist or something?

Well my fellow Soldat comrades, I surely cannot wait for the promised bug fixes in the next version.

And also I am impatient to share my oppinion with you all. I hope that we can shape a civilized conversation here and discuss everything that excites us.

Yeah? Well it is a big deal when you've lost it after getting killed not several times in a row, but at least 20-30

PS: I really, really get pwned the most in almost every game xD
But I'm mostly on the first 5 positions.
And yeah, I get frustrated fast when someone pwns me with Ruger or Spas

PS2: No! I'm not a n00b I've been playing for 2 years!

At times when I see threads about Ruger being overpowered, I dismiss it. That can't be right. But then later on I would go into the u13 DM and there's a Ruger placed (very comfortably, at least a 10 point lead) at #1. I would get my ass kicked on at least four maps, and then I would leave. I've used Ruger before, it's not that hard to learn. Hell, it's easier than Deagles and Spas and it takes much less time to kill, and it has much farther range! I can feel how it is to be owned by a Ruger, but I would never whine about it. If I really wanted to show them up I would use Ruger myself.

And Steyr? You can own it easily with an AK, unless they're right on top of you. Just get the fsck away from them and you should be fine.

I can see you complaining in some cases...but to be honest, playing rugers in realistic isn't something a noob would normally do, just to point that out...anyone can blindly aim, fire and get lucky but every weapon takes mastering. IMO maybe you wrote this due to the fact that you're running around every game letting people play target practice with you as the target.

You can complain about all the weapons, but if you'd think you'd realize every weapon has one to counter it and your movement can save you....think with an ounce of strategy and i guarantee you'll last longer. I've been playing for 4 months and already know this.

Long maybe, but well written? He explain in detail the phrases he made up to say when he gets killed by a weapon he doesn't like, even in cases where he could've easily won.

and Steyr? Well, from an AK's point of view they have the advantage. But from that of a ruger, spas, or even an m79 in good hands they're done for.

So yeah, every weapon has an area it's best in. Find the correct tactics to get you into advantages and admit that you're not always gonna have the right weapon at the right time. The balance may not be perfect, but most of the cases of whining I see are from using blatantly wrong tactics for their current weapon and them acting surprised, of all things, when they're a bleeding heap on the ground.

Spas: Yeah I'll agree to that.
Ruger: Spray is unnecessary. Their weapon is slow, so come in at them from an angle with speed. If you go head on, they'll just smash your head in.
Steyr: Steyr is relatively weak when at long range. So just distance yourself. If you have a short-range weapon, take to the air, at a 45 degree angle.

Ehh, I've always considered the Steyr an all-around weapon, nice at short range if you're facing a long range, nice at long range if you're facing a short, and more or less owns at mid. If I see a Ak'er while I'm using the Steyr, I'll run up to get the advantage.

As for Ruger, whenever I use it I get binked to hell. Could be I just suck with it, but that defense works on me at least

Yes, you are whining. You're complaining about something you have no power to change. If you wanted your topic to sound like an opinion, perhaps more suggestions to change the weapon would have been nice. Posting it in the Weapons Balance forum could have been good too.

If there's nothing you can do about something, you should live with it. That's life.

Just dump the TW stuff. Get in IRC, join #sna.gather if you are NA player, #Soldat.gather if you are euro. Learn. Join a clan.

I can guarantee that you have more fun with the clans than with some random TW server.

Big deal? Through all my entire soldat game play i never called anyone like that just because he killed me many times in a row. To me, whether i get killed always, or not, depends on my mood, map and team mates i play with. It looks quite funny to me actually when i kill player, then i kill again and every time i kill him again, he writes "noob" "rugertart" and etc. before he even falls on the ground. I don't care even if the same person knifes me several times in a row and i don't get a single kill or keeps killing me through all round.

P.S. Oh and i noticed that most of the younger players do that. I meant no offence, but thats what I noticed.

Kay now, first, Ruger is really overpowered. I've been playing Soldat since 1.2.1 so I know that before 1.4.0, Ruger killed with 2 shots. I got frustrated with Ruger's weakness then but now it seems so easy to kill - only 1 shot and you can not only own one player but in some cases even two!
About the bink when using Ruger. Eh, I always hit the hell out of a ruger player but it seems that this just won't affect him.
I put 5-6 bullets in him and he just turns around and single-firing corpses me.

About the Spas. Yes, I have a suggestion - it looks kinda funny to be shot with it from around a screen (one is  enough to stun you, the second kills you)

I laugh a lot because Spas' range ability is not short and it's power is so giant.
It's funny to see how you're being hit with an amazing parabola, the bullets flying not faster than a falling feather and you get shredded to pieces

Steyr Aug can easily own an AK-er when using the "Death from above" tactic. Otherwise, Aug is long-ranged but when used in long ranges, it's almost powerless. Against Spas and Ruger it is effective - I think that it binks a bit. In close ranges it's deadly, but it can also be annoyingly sprayee in the hands of a well trained steady-handed player.

Some suggestions about the AK - maybe make the magazine a 30-bullet one. And to compensate - the fire interval should be a little shorter.

A: Completely impossible for the Ruger to be a 1-hit-kill. You're either weakened or making this up

B: Spas? Not short? Wtf? It loses half its effectiveness after 65% of a screen, that's not long range.

C: I say the AK should go back to what it was at 1.3.1, or at least close to that. Not because it's over/underpowered, but because it's practically EXACTLY the same thing as the Minimi. If the graphic and sounds were the same, I wouldn't be able to tell the weapons apart in the middle of a game. Unlike before, the fireinterval difference is only 1, they're basically the same weapon with only minor tweaks. So yeah, boost the power back up and lower the speed instead of turning it into a Minimi clone.
