I don't even think it over whenever I have to nmake a poll, I just do it the other way around by instinct now. Allthough, I guess it would be better for the newer forumers.. Don't consider it a high priority though. We're managing so far

You're supposed to be able to create a poll by just clicking "create poll", but evidently you have to actually write and post a thread and then afterwards reenter that thread and click "add poll" in order to create one, savvy?

It's a well known bug, and most people have just learned to live with it. But knowing it's a bug, it might as well be fixed, right?

If there are serious PHP coders here who are interested in looking and trying to find the bug, I may be willing to give you the source code.  You would have to create your own installation of SMF (the older code branch, not the 1.1.* branch), then replace the files with the ones I give you.

I need to talk to Chakra and EH about it before I can do that, but I don't see a problem.  Unfortunately I can't give you a database snapshot because that would be all kinds of wrong, but by now I'm 99% sure that the bug is in the code, not any settings or permissions stored in the DB.

I wish I had enough time to do that.
But as you know, I've already got my hands full lately.
Should there ever be a great need to fix this and no coder, I might be able to put some other projects aside.

As I said, don't ake it a priority. It's not like we can't get our way around it, and so far the forum is working just fine. I know you're a busy man, DePhille, so don't fill your schedule even more because of this.
