Oh wow, sims, the virtual dollhouse, so fun.  ::)

I didn't say it was my favorite game ever, did I? It's great, but it's not in my top 5.

If you're looking for a cheap, fun computer game with low requirements, you could always buy Battlefield 2.

How could anybody who likes Soldat like Sims!?!?

Get Hitman Contracts and Blood Money... they're nice games... I think there are Glocks in Blood Money.

As far as Singleplayer games go, I'm not much help.. I mostly play multiplayer games.

I've heard Call of Duty 2 has nice singleplayer campaigns..

Are you joshing? I have it already. It's certainly not reasonable with its requirements!

I do. Dammit, stop generalizing. There's even a thread dedicated to having some forum members participate in Zero72's Sims game.

I would say Call Of Duty, I bought one and its great. I have only  heard good things about two. I have played a bit of a game called Call of Chuthulu, its pretty cool, but really weird. I have also played a bit of Fable, good game if you are into fantasy stuff.   Also one game I played that alot of people probably will diss is Freedom Fighters, for some reason I always liked that game.

I love a good singleplayer game, but I finish them all in a day or 2. multiplayer games will give you much more fun for your cash.

and I agree with †, Fable is definatly one of the better singleplayer games I've played.

Just to mention an indie game, Starscape is  freakin awesome. It really dragged me into the game.

I would not reccomend call of duty 2. Campaign was boring and just the same thing over and over. Unless you can find it for a really low price, it does have its moments which are really fun. But its too similar to medal of honor (better though).
Diablo 2 and its expansion had me for years
Fallout 1 and 2 were fun as well, both games had awesome story lines.
Fable is good, not worth too much though, so make sure you can get it for a low price
Ah yes, Freedom Fighters is good fun, never manged to finish it though due to a format which then made me lose the game :(
Civilization games will keep you hooked forever. Number 3 was the best, however they are bringing out expansions for 4.
Heroes of might and magic is good too, not sure which version to reccommend though, read the reviews and determine that yourself. My favorites are 3 and 5, but not sure if your PC can handle number 5.
Company of Heroes is really good, however with its high specifications you might have to go for Dawn of War instead which isn't as good but still a bunch of fun.
C&C Generals and Zero Hour have a good story line, I prefer them to C&C3, but haven't given the new one a real chance yet.

If you want a completely open-ended game with insane amounts of single player gameplay and craploads of  downloadable mods, try The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowinds. Not sure about the graphic requirements, though.

SWAT 4, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander (I don't think is that bad!)

But SWAT 4 is my top, because ... It just has tremendous replay value... seriously.

Half-life 2's singleplayer is pretty great. If you get that, don't forget that you can buy Garry's mod :P

Homeworld is still fun to replay just because you can capture 100 ships :D Epic battles.
