Power Rangers.
« on: August 08, 2007, 10:38:38 pm »
...I remember the first season of Power Rangers when I was a kid.
It was cool, it was awesome, it was fun.
Now, I just saw their newest crap, and it is so horrible, they seem to have gotten worse effects, how is that possible!?
I say, bring back the oldies, stop with this new crap... Time force? More like crap force.

Never been big on the Power Rangers, but I did notice new episodes on TV of a saturday morning. The one I saw was made in new zealand I think...

The Power Rangers kicked ass. I watched it on a daily basis as a kid. I stopped watching it after they starting making a bunch of changes to the show though. I think that it jumped the shark when they replaced three of the old rangers with some new obnoxious kids.

Same here.
It was good, then they made it cheesey, with bad effects, and had obnoxious little shits in it. It got bad.

Power Rangers are one in a series of long standing Japanese live action series involving people in colored uniforms, colored smoke bombs, and Godzilla-esk effects.  Google/wiki it, and you'll find out a lot more.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams it is
still a beautiful world.  Strive to be happy.

It was always like this:

Everyone wanted to be the red ranger in the playground.
The black kid was always forced into being the black ranger
The most popular or the one most kids fancied was always pink ranger
Only ugly girls were yellow rangers
If you were nerdy/short/fat/loner you had to be the blue ranger
The disabled kid in the wheelchair was always zordon

Then everyone else were the dummies
And later on occasionally we'd let someone be the green ranger who everyone hated and got beaten up on the way home after school

EDIT: Man, school was so fucking fun.

I used to watch Power Rangers when I was little... the original ones. Afterwards, I realized how exaggerated the shows were. Some of the rangers flew backwards like 10 feet from one swipe from an enemy, the special effects were cheesier than the old Godzilla movie, and it was pretty silly to watch them. Still, it was fun when I was younger... now I hardly watch TV anymore at all.

Watched it when I was like, I dunno, five. The thing is they haven't gotten better effects or anything in 10 years. It is all the same now. How 'bout we just cancel the stupid show and get over with it.

Bad monsters come--they fight them--they then have to use their dinozords- they win.

Or

Bad monsters come--they fight them--they then have to use their dinozords--they need more power, so they turn into super mega dinozord-they win.

Real deep plot right there ::)

Sure it was just a kids show, but you'd still thought they'd be more imaginative.

captain planet > power rangers.

what's the 2nd series?

I only remember the first series and then the movie, that was the best. They should definitely bring power rangers, the classic ones of course with good graphics like transformers *drools*

I never liked the Power Rangers, because all the episodes were the same.

1. Power Rangers talking about their social lives.
2. Bad guys come, school the Rangers.
3. Rangers morph.
4. Rangers school the bad guys.
5. Bad guys get mad, grow huge.
6. Rangers get Megazord (or whatever it's called), school bad guys again.
7. Rangers go back to their social lives.

After four or five episodes of this, you start to get sick of it really fast.

This reminds me of 6 months ago me and my friend were really bored and it was Saturday morning, so we decided to watch the Power Rangers for some laughs. It is so lame it is hard to describe. I don't think they should bring it back, I never thought it was that great, and the current audience of kids wouldn't like it, too repetive and lame.
