Access violation when pressing T
« on: October 13, 2008, 01:12:27 pm »
Access violation when pressing T or F1 / when killed by player with name longer than 20 chars
Quote from: Michal Marcinkowski
Also, for people that get an error after pressing T or F1,
go to Soldat\Txt, open fonts.ini and change FontMenuSize
to FontMenuSize=13 (or higher number)
if that doesnt help change
FontConsoleSize=9 (or 10 or higher)

I tried this, but it didn't work. Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance

Try these settings:

Font1=BankGothic Lt BT
Font2=Lucida Console
FontMenuSize=12
FontConsoleSize=9
FontBigSize=28
FontWeaponMenuSize=8
FontConsoleSmallSize=7
FontHeightScale=125
FontMenuBold=1
FontConsoleBold=0
FontBigBold=1
FontWeaponMenuBold=0
FontConsoleSmallBold=0
KillConsoleNameSpace=8

I had this problem when I first downloaded it.

Somebody had this problem a couple of weeks ago and seems to have found a way to resolve it, so see if what he suggested doesn't help you out. What seems to be especially important is matching your bitrate and resolution to your desktop settings.

If that doesn't do anything for you, I'd do a full reinstall of the game. By full reinstall, I mean the following:

1) Back up whatever important files you want (taunts, screenshots, etc.)
2) Uninstall Soldat
3) Delete any remaining files in the Soldat folder
4) Restart your computer
5) Reinstall Soldat
6) Restart again for good measure
7) Test to ensure that Soldat now works properly
8) Replace backed up files

Leaving out any steps might hamper a potential fix.
