I found out how they did it, and I have the IP of the person who did it. If you have access to a large amount of login/user data on your sites and would like to try to look this up for me, send me a PM and I'll give you the IP.

Are you at the liberty of giving up the name, there is an army surplus store down the street and well... In all seriousness, can you keep this from happening again, I mean, who would want to hack a random forum for a small game?

He is apparently not a member or going through a proxy. I'm sure FLAB already knows the country, city and DNS host (ISP) of this person.

This is not hacking either. Tis cracking, the system was probably not compromised. A hacker would erase their tracks from the logs. Chakra doesn't strike me as the type to use a 20 digit password either making this whole attempt look armature.

I'm 99% sure he's not going through a proxy, it looks like a residential IP address (jackass).   Someone else just tried to flood the forums from a server they own, but I blocked that within seconds of it starting.  I will be contacting their server host shortly.

Well, basically you can't do anything besides banning him from these forums. After all, he didn't do anything illegal (unless he 'hacked' Chakra's password). Otherwise it would just be a small email to his ISP and his internet would've been blocked.

So right now we need to find out what that particular IP address has been visiting so we can link it to a username or something.

If this was a work of a hacker and he used his real Ip thats pretty bad. I um would think that a hacker would connect using a network of computers and not directly from one computer but then again this is just a small time forum. I mean but I guess he would like to test his skills off and see how he would do and I have to applaud him on his means of getting through it was quite genius but I have several theories on how it could have happened  but some of them would also mean that FLABs whole system  could be in danger which would mean a whole mess of trouble. Then again I could just be over thinking this all which I usually do.

Yeah, we're pretty sure it wasn't a hacker.
Everything that happened can be done using an admin account on SoldatForums and not other projects hosted on the same server as these forums have been harmed.
Also, Chakra was the only one logged in during the time of the hack, so someone must've gotten into his account.

Yeah true. I suppose someone just go lucky but the thing is and I find it interesting is the fact that he used a account already logged on. Wouldn't it show that Chakra computer could be the vunerablity point. Just a suggestion.
