My favourite weapon. I love it. Please don't change it. :)
I think the balance may be just about right because i still own with it ;) but I still loose out to the ruger (which i would use but I'm not quite good enough :P).

Well most people's beef with the spas is it shoots so fast it dominates in tunnels, only the mp5 can even compete in a close match. But I agree it is pretty good, in 1.3 it was a little underpowered.

That said, it was made for tunnels :). Outside it proves less of a hard hitter.

Key word here being close. If you hit the roof/get out of the way they're screwed. Dodging skills leave this weapon in the dust unless they predict you or get closer, which if hard to do under fire.

IMO, I think the blast could be weakened a bit but to compensate give it more range. Not too much though, just a little.

Umm, why would we give it range if it is a cave gun? Changing it just for the sake of changing it makes little sense, although I do agree it needs to be a little different somehow, I just don't know how, longer reload or something.

My idea is that it should be balanced. I think that when it hits it is slightly too powerful. In REALLY small maps it is overpowered. I just think it should be more universal. Im not saying take away its specialty as a cave gun, but make it where it works slightly better in other situations but slightly worse in cave situations.

Yeah, you're right. Also barret is too overpowered on big open maps. We should increase the clip size, decrease the reload time and damage, right? So that it's not that specialized as before. Also minigun has a too big clip, it needs to be cut down. Right?

Indeed. Many people think that SPAS is overpowered, but try to shoot somebody from 1/2 screen. He won't die even on Real. mode ON. SPAS is percetly balanced.
My SPAS-12 doesn't like most of people. He can mistakenly shoot your brain out of your head and splash it on the nearest wall.

It takes around 15 bullets

but spas users dont have a real reload and can kill you with 2 shots(being weak on long range doesnt make it less overpowered on close range)

Well it's pretty mega ultra powerful up close and really effective in tunnels, but as Daimarus said, it's range is tiny. As Lord Frank said it all depends on your dodging skills to gain the upper hand against this weapon.

You dont have to be sarcastic and troll my post. I'm just saying, the SPAS is really only effective in a few situations. I ultimately just want to give it a small boost to at least make it half decent in open areas. The way it is it just doesnt cut it for the most part and I'll use the Mp5 over the SPAS anyday. MP5 is meant for closed in areas but it still works when it is in open areas, granted, not as good as other weapons like AK or AUG, but Im not saying lets take away the defining characteristics of the weapon at all. For some reason I just thought it was better in 1.3.1. I was far more effective with it.

the spaz is like the m79 in the sense that if you get killed by it, it was probably a poor judgement in tactics. If you stay far away then the spas sucks, if you get cornered then the map sucks, and if they can ever get any kills with it then they are either playing with total noobs or they have some kind of surprise tactic.
