why are soldat players not using the realistic mode

They are, its just not as popular as regular mode.

its a matter of taste. Personally I think normal mode is the best. Realistic is kind of hard to play.
I remember when the first time I downloaded soldat it was somehow default on realistic mode. I almost uninstalled the game because it was so f**king annoying to try and fire a weapon that went crazy after a couple of shots.

So there you have it. Not many new soldat players will fancy reallistic over normal.

In my opinion RS is the best gamemode. It's not just mindless shooting and rushing. You have to actually fine tune your weapon skills and tactics. And the survival part isnt bad at all - sure you have to wait a little when you die but it really isn't that long and it forces you to pay more attention to things such as sounds.

Leo's realistic server(s) is awesome (i used to play there alot), then there's active ctf if you live close to Finland. But well, if you live further away, then bad luck man

It's because Soldat's popularity has dropped serverly.
Like there is no law catch, hardly any dodgeball, etc etc...

Law catch was merely one server in the !Elite Community

Dodgeball was a dyeing game and faded out with 1.4 Pretty much

Soldat popularity didnt drop at 1.4 If anything it increased

What Im seeing now is the majority of Realistic servers are private for clans to train on. Theres still a few active ones like Leo's
