Ninjas are fucking gay!  Substituting power for stealth is ridiculous -- who wants to be mean but unseen?  That's why Pirates kick ass - you can see them coming, and you have a chance to fight back (though you'll lose.)  Ninjas, on the otherhand, hide behind their black cloaks and never stick around for more than a few seconds, never missing a chance to tell you of their allegiance and nobility.

Hey ninjas?  If you're so fucking righteous, why do you resort to sneaking around and running off when the deed is done?

Not to mention Pirates are travellers - they sail the seven seas, discovering uncharted territories, going on treasure hunts, quests, etc...  where are ninjas?  Stuck in Japan.  Woo Japan .. what a great place to be stuck.  [/sarcasm]

Having this as one of those random brotherly conversations, me and my twin came to the conclusion that- One Ninja is cooler than one Pirate, but Pirates are better overall as they make a career on what are basically huge road-trips (well, sea-trips) filled with heavy drinking, owning merchants and solders, plundering ships and towns, all with loads of ship mates on a ship full of cannons. Plus its one of the few occupations where having a large beard is cool.

Ok, "well considering Pirates had to breed to stay alive..." Pirates weren't a "breed", they were runaway kids who decided sea life was for them, and they became lame pirates (rather than the obviously better solution becoming a Ninja  ).
