lol, unless I've skimmed page or something I've not seen any pirate-promoting posts which talk about modern[/b] pirates nowadays who raid military shipyards, ride small motorboats attacking other ships with grenade launchers, machine guns, etc.

Well, in that case, Pirates also outlived ninjas. They win for length of life and adapting to the modern day world.

The only thing ninjas have going for them is an awesome platforming game; pirates have two awesome movies, due for a third. Pirates win.
Another thing to contemplate, if a pirate becomes an undead, cybernetic, or anything else, its still a pirate. But if a ninja gets zombied, digitalized, or something, its no longer a proper ninja. Another point for pirates.

Pirates have hundreds of awsome movies, all the ninja movies are really shitty and cheesy.

Educate yourself about the movies, the "pirates of the carribean" movies are fairytales, there are much better movies on the subject: crimson pirate, numerous movie versions of treasure island, Captain Blood etc. I suggest you watch some old, MGM era pirate movies, because they are great action-adventure flicks

. Ninjas are gone because of all modernization over there, obviously. We shoulda just given 'em their own island.

Has anyone played the game "Pirates!" I heard it was a great game and a lot of sites gave it the adventure game of the year award.

Oh yes that game rocks!!! They remade it some years ago, I still play the game every now and then.
