I am a hardcore fan of the barret....in my opinion its the best damn weapon on soldat...and is even better when strapped with a law or saw....but ever since i downloaded the new version many ppl(cough....*sprayers*....cough) have been saying that snipers are "noobish" and "cheap". I know the barrets a one shotter....but thats the thing...one shot....per reload that gives an opponent enough time to fill the barret wielder with damn near a full clip. And God forbid someone tries to spray my ass while im aiming...then when i hit my target...miraculously...ppl scream "omg barret takes no skill!!!".... So if any one has an opinion whether for or against my topic feel free to respond...

It is just one shot, but it is one very fast and very straight shot. The Barrett used to be used for very cheap kills, but since the 1.3 nerfs it has become much less of a 'noob gun'.

You CAN use it for cheap and easy kills, but you can use it for the hardest and most valuable kills aswell.

It is very rare to come across an awsome barret user. Though it's easy to use it in a lame way... like thinking more about one's KD than what's best for the team, without necessary camping at a spot for ages.

If anything the barrett is the most balanced 1 shot kill weapon. M79 and Knife are far cheaper IMO. The barrett suffers from startup time, horrible bink, 4 second firing intervals, and horrible moveacc. If you hit with it, you probably deserve the kill. M79 gets a shot off every 3 seconds (compared to the 4.25 or so combining the startup and fire interval). The knife is also good to get out fast and throw. I see people spawnkill with it like crazy at the beginning of a round. I have less beefs with the barrett than with any other 1 hit kill weapon, except maybe the saw (point blank range balances it) and the law (8 second reload, startup time, and the need to crouch).

If you're close enough to get sprayed at, you're not using the gun right. It's got a scope for a reason. That's why people don't like it. You fire a shot across a screen, if you miss, you run away and try again.

i dont thing the barret is a noob wep, the m79 is.
The barret requires some skills to aim, just dont listen to any dumbass that says u are "cheap"

To answer the question of the title: No one says it sucks
Great weapon, kills in one hit so people complain. See these threads all the time, they need to stop.

EXCUSE ME BUDDY, without rushers, there would be no pressure on the enemy team. If we all had Barrets and camped/moved in slowly, what kind of game is that...NO OFFENSE. Plus rushers have like 3x the kills you snipers usually do.

I'm not hating on Barret, but too many people spawn with it. *Enemy takes flag* -Hurry up.... SPAWN! *run towards exit of base... HEADSHOTTED BY SPAWNER. Lame.

M79 and Knife are worse with spawning trust me. The knife bugs me for some reason, it's like a "oh crap i ran out of ammo in a spraying battle, *kills you with 1 hit*" weapon. At least with the barrett you need to aim more.

Oh, come on. For one, the knife has a speed of 60, and secondly, you DO have to aim more, maybe even more so than the Barrett. It has a big arc to calculate, especially from a distance.

your rushers may have more kills then ppl with a barret but when your 37 - 45 and im 25 - 3 I'd take my 25 and 3 anyday because of the KDR. + ive seen people effectively RUSH with a barret, not many but I've seen them

Spas12 kills in one shot, why do people not moan about that, well OK, it's only a one shot kill with the right momentum, but if the barret took no skill to use, then I would be able to use it, seriously, I fail with that weapon, and if you dont know how to predict a shot and bounce your shots off of the terrain then you deserve to die...

Besides... M79 and Law, tell me how that requires skill?

Spas12- Only at point blank range.

M79- Definitely overpowered, but the arc makes you need some skill, except at really close range.

LAW- At least you need to crouch...and aim.

Again, I dont think the barrett is overpowered. I only complain about M79 and knife.

Oh, and twistkill, youre talking about long distance. Im talking about dying when im massacring people at 5 meters away with MP5. They run out of bullets and while im still pouding them they throw. Im dead faster than I can fire enough bullets to kill. Also, I see people kill within 1-2 seconds of respawn with knife. That is annoying.

Hey, it's actually harder to use now because we have to wait until invincibility wears off after spawning to even start charging up the throw. Really, use it yourself and still see if it's overpowered.
