Soldat Not Working

evrtime i try to run soldat Its Says " Could Not initialize DirectX Graphics. You must have installed DirectX 8.1 or better." when i did.

Are you sure you've got the newest DirectX Graphics installed on your computer? I can't see any else reason why your game wouldn't run. There was a time, when I was running Soldat on an older computer, then I got the exactly same problem as you did. What Graphic card are you using?

Run dxdiag.exe, the System page lists the DirectX version, the Display page lists your video card manufacturer and chip type, which if you post here along with your OS I can find drivers for you.

You have integrated video, Intel 82845G, but you are on Vista and I can't find a driver for Vista on Intel's site, and since you have no amount of computer knowhow, I'm not going to get you to experiment with XP drivers.

And since I also have little experience with Vista, I'm afraid there isn't much you, or I, can do. Except wait until that changes, unless you really want to start playing around (which I doubt).

To further the value of this thread... Can someone answer the following questions for me?
1) Is Dx10 the default in Vista?
2) If not, has anyone gotten Soldat working in Dx10?  I know that some people have Soldat working in Vista, which is why I have the "if not" in there.

I'm pretty sure that DirectX10 is default with Vista. I know that it's exclusive to Vista at any rate.

click on your soldat icon and go change teh compatibility mode to Xp... i think this helps.
