Banned candies
« on: August 25, 2007, 12:57:34 pm »
Have anyone here enjoyed some nice treat of candy, only to wake up the next morning to find that they're banned in the United States either for little reason or appropriately ridiculous reasons?

M&Ms were banned in Denmark, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, and Norway for the red candy contained Allura Red AC and instead used Cochineal.

Does anyone know where some good candies went and why? Because I wake up every morning wondering why the commercial no longer Air baby bottle pop or some outrageous and funny commercials like that.

This topic is open for discussion.

I've also seen M&M in norway. Though, there are only 1 or 2 types here, when I went to thailand there were many different sorts.

I don't know about banned candies, but china isn't too good at making toothpaste.

You can still find them, but they fell out of favor after a lot of bad press from the whole pop rocks and soda thing and a lot of people just didn't like them. I have seen them some, but not entirely too often.

I hate your american rubbish you guys eat. M&M are good but are pretty much a zero compared to any swiss chocolate. Or any other European chocolate for that matter. And whats about these silly names?  Pop rocks? baby bottle pop? WTF is that shit?

Although it's worth mentioning that it isn't true and is an urban myth; you can eat pop rocks and drink soda (any kind) without any ill effects. Unless you eat enough of them, then you might get bloated, but it isn't like you can die from them.

Actaully Americans are accustomed to a more bitter chocolate than most Europeans, hence what you said. At the same time they are also cheaper, especially here in America Swiss chocolate is pretty expensive. As for the names, the name "Baby bottle pop" is really retarded, most is just named after the inventor or what the chocolate is, i.e. cruhch has rice in it and is crunchier.

One thing to note, is that the same brand of chocolate differs between countries. For example, you could go to Australia and buy the same chocolate bar you can get in the US, but it will taste different.

Same with Coca-Cola; Australian version uses different sweetner from the US version and thus tastes different.

The best chocolate that I've tasted so far was a 70% cocoa swiss chocolate. Yeah it's a little bitter, but it leaves a really nice taste in your mouth after you eat it. And it melts really nicely in your mouth. The white chocolate is my second choice. Nothing beats good ol white chocolate.

I just think that american stuff is really all about mass producing, hence the coca-cola tastes better in my country. And please just don't try italian coke, it's like chakra's arsefluid.
