Solution to Population and Pollution

What if we reduced population which we need because the earth has so many human beings. Population increases a lot every year, we need to stop this because we will start running out of things. What if everyone was only allowed to have 1 child. If you have twins or triplets its ok because you didn't know. But anyways if everyone in the world could only have one child that would reduce the earths population and pollution because less people equals less pollution.
   
  Also then since population will decrease we will have more room to plant trees and other plants plus we they should put strict pollution laws. After we reduce pollution and population everyone should be allowed to have as many children as they want. Do you think this could be a solution to our huge growing population and pollution? By the way I'm not a tree hugger.

An excellent idea. The only problem that's keeping us from doing this and eventually forming a Utopian system is the ethics of the peoples. The New Testament, the Qur'an, the Torah, it's all standing in the way (and maybe for good reason). All we can hope for is a jumpstart for a greener economy and to regulate family births (like in China).

Having one child, that sounds good and dandy but who the hell do you think is going to check everywhere to see that this rule is upheld.
The Peoples Republic of China has such a law as this but is mostly only enforced in the cities, so if a person goes to the farmlands no one is going to care if they have freaking 2 or 3 kids.

Eventually War and new diseases and other human beings will even out the population. Big Tobacco is trying its hardest to help curb the population.

Right in China the prevalent thought of boys > girls is still in place however the notion of girls being as good as a boy is steadily increasing.
