Biologic

I don't mean to gloat, but this map is simply incredible. I think of it as my best. I've spent countless hours testing, waypointing, re-testing, fixing waypoints, moving spawns, and making small tweaks to make it as perfect as I can. I've also gotten lots of help from Krypt, who've I've consulted throughout this maps construction. This is Jungle themed, and uses a custom palette shown in the overview. 500 Sceneries, mainly because of two of [gloat]the best bridges ever made using all default scenery[/gloat]. They each utilize at least 140 sceneries. Waypointed better than I've ever waypointed a map. Now go, Play!

This is simply jawdropping. From a glance, this is a very fun and fair INF map. Oh, and the bridges, I could lose my virginity to them. <3

Leo: rename it to Inf_Biologic.

While I do agree that this is your best map to date, as the looks are stunning and it's totally bug-free ( and it's also the first map I've downloaded from the forums in the last few months! ), after a quick 4v4 match with bots, here are my concerns.

My main problem is that the map is just too small for INF. The lower route is really cramped, while the white flag and the black flag are in within one m79 boost of range. The elevation of blue team also provides excellent chance to spray the attackers to kingdom come, and if it weren't for John, Kruger and Dutch as defence, I would've gotten shred. You could either add some sort of roof to nerf boosting, and some spray blockers ( even if it takes adding some random collider-columns ). The bridges connect to the landscape in a tad awkward way, so you have to jump or get bumped up; it's impossible to make a 'clean' drop to the lower route, especially at the first alpha entrance. Note that I've playtested it in normal mode, realistic might be a vastly different experience, but it's still small for Leo's humongous server. Maybe if you'd magnify the map size by 150%... maybe.

Also, bonus cookies for using so much sceneries without hogging fps.

Definitively a map to download and join in servers.

The jungle-themed looking and the transparency usage is GREAT. The bridge looks super-realistic. Details like grass in ropes (Doing a moss looking) is a very good idea which i will use in my maps. Really a great map with only default sceneries which should be added as a INF map for next Soldat versions.

PS: Your map tw_Anoxi is better than other map in the Soldat History. :D

Very, very good job.

Very pretty, but aside that looks very fair, balanced, and a good Inf map. This would go well in all Inf servers rotation. GJ.

That was the emmidiate word popping up in my mind as well. You've outdone yourself, mate. This is by far the best night-map I've seen so far. Simply brilliant.

Couldn't have stated it better myself. Pure bliss. Those are the only words I can use to describe this without getting too poetic. Great job, bud!

It's not surprising that Demonic is the only poster to have given actual constructive criticism.  Arg.

So, Wraithlike.  Love the visuals, as always.  You still haven't lost your touch on the scenery.

However, it's a bit disappointing to see that you used the same atmosphere and coloring as Siberia.  Even the layout, with the slantiness and the small tunnels, reminded me of that map.

The gameplay I'm not so excited about.  I concur with Demonic here that the tunnels are too narrow; I don't think anyone will use them, since they just take too long to get through.  And since this is an open map, I can see alot of M79/Minigun boosting from Alpha.  Sniping can become an issue, too.  You don't have anything to hide behind from sniper fire except the sandbags, but they aren't very effective.

Ok, I think that the general census is that I should add a cieling to the level. I think I'll just make a simple cieling which is maybe "hurts" But if anyone thinks I should make it invisible, do say so. I don't really know which would work better. I'll probably try to remove some scenery, so the cieling can have some, provided it's not invisible.

The idea of teh gameplay is that to travel safely, alpha will have to use the lower route, because the upper route is very open, but the brave can travel it much more quickly. I never got to test with humans, so It's hard to determine how the gameplay will change. Also, E_A, you're thinking of dirge, which I based the entirety of this map off of, but hopefully with better gameplay and layout. May original hope was actually that this map would be much larger, but I lost focus while building it. I still believe though, that with a cieling, the gameplay will be satisfactory, or at least more than it already is.

And thanks EA and Demonic for the constructive feedback, and everyone for stroking my ego. :D

gameplay problem: black flag very easily falls under the bridge from stray bullets, when an efc is killed on it etc. just a bad palce for black flag, move it farther imo

gameplay problem: buggy bridges. jump on em

gameplay problem: though it's otherwise bugfree, movement is hard because of complicated terrain polygon shapes and little jet.

possible gameplay problem: i foresee lots n lots of spray with such a linear layout

Thanks boxo, I've taken all that into consideration in the next version that I'll be releasing soon, although, I can't make the terrain much smoother.

Edit: I've taken all of your comments into consideration, and made some major changes that improve the map

List of Changes: (1.0 -> 1.1.2 -> 1.2.3 -> 1.2.4)

-Cieling added.
-Spray blockers added.
-Minor poly structure optimization.
- Black Flag moved back to top of hill.
-Bridges debugged.
-Waypoints improved.
-5 sceneries replaced.

I hope you enjoy it. The fancy version numbers make my e-penis bigger.
